Update: This rumour appears to be false, it was just a mockup some dude made for a competition or something...
Anyway, Team ICO are still making a new game, so I guess this thread still has a purpose.
This is the reason I will have to eventually own/borrow a PS3.
This site has just gone live, featuring some pretty ambient music, and this teaser image:
Which translates "ICO 3: The Queen", and aparently it will be released in Japan on the 9th of October 2009, just over a year away.
Previously, this image was shown on a job listing entry:

If you haven't played either ICO or it's pseudo follow up Shadow of the Colossus, I strongly urge you to track them down. ICO is a puzzle platformer, but it's so much more than that. SOTC is a boss rush action game, but it's so much more than that.
I should also say thank you to Centipeed. He bought me ICO as just a random act of awesome generosity, had he not, I may have never got around to playing what is now one of my favourite games ever.
Edit: How did I forget. The site also implies they will be showing something at TGS, which is the 9th to the 12th of October.

Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has promised the next game from Fumito Ueda will be "really, really good". Phew.
Ueda, of course, is the man who brought us Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. In the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine (as reported on NeoGaf), Yoshida says, "I started the ICO project. Ueda-san joined my team in Japan as a cinematic animator, but he created a short movie and presented it to me and said, 'I want to make this game.'
"I said, 'Yes, let’s do it, but you have never made a game. We have to have experienced people do it,' so it took a while, recruiting one person at a time. And because Fumito Ueda doesn't compromise, we had to move the development from PSone to PlayStation 2. Then I couldn't complete the game because I moved to the United States." What a palaver.
But Ico did make it onto the shelves, and so did Ueda's next game - eventually. "It took four years and the second game took four years too. So I started calling them the 'Olympic Team'," Yoshida revealed.
"They haven’t released a PS3 title yet - of course not - they’ll take four years! But they have something really, really good on the way."
Four years, eh... Well, Shadow of the Colossus was released in Europe in February 2006. Could it be we'll have to wait until 2010 for Ueda's next title? It had better be really, really good.

Even if it's been unnamed, we've all known that a new Team ICO game was on the way for the PS3.
There is so much going for the 360 though. ICO 3 is the sole reason why I wanted a PS3 over a 360.

Oh same, that is a huge part of the reason I went for a 360 and not a PS3. I just mean this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Yeah that kind of had me wondering too.
Is that really Team Ico's blog? Just a little skeptical because if I get my hopes crushed I will be pissed.
Why not just buy a ps3 too, just pick it up next year christmas time it'll definitely be at least $100 cheaper and you'll probably want a bluray player by then. I had all three consoles last gen and I eventually plan on buying all three this gen. Its nice having the freedom to play any game.

But yeah this game itself might not be a system seller, but with LittleBigPlanet and MGS4 it will cave a lot of people I'm sure. I mean just imagine it in the highest of definitions.

Team ICO is an amazing developer. I know nothing about them. But I would pay 600 dollars to be able to play a game from them.
It won't have a HD and will require $70 memory cards that are 1 gig each.

The next game by Team Ico will likely be what pushes me over the edge into Playstation territory. I already want one for MGS 4, Little Big Planet, and Blu Ray, so now I'm just waiting for their game and a price cut.
