Morrowind, motherfuckers

So I'm playing this for the first time and ever, and, holy goddamn guacamole, this game is deep. Like, way deeper than Oblivion. I've played for like three hours thus far and haven't accomplished a goddamn thing other than exploring and gathering a bunch of mushrooms, and I feel satisfied.

But I feel like with all this content, there's gotta be a lot to do and a lot to talk about. I'm playing a Breton Mage class right now focussing on the major willpower/intelligence based schools of magic and unarmored combat. Just wandering around Vivec is so much more deep and interesting than fuckin' Oblivion, my mind is absolutely blown.

What should I do next? The only problem I've encountered is the world is so goddamn big I can't find anything, and whatever I do find rapes me in the face.

Also, it's beautiful. I love the skyboxes and the organic art style and everything about the visuals.

Oblivion was complete shit compared to this game. Even before expansions. Also just have some fun in balmora and go hang out with the church dudes if you're a breton mage. Whatever you do, check out the Telvanni quests, either on this character or the next.

It's a lot less frustrating as a Mage

I've played melee-type characters on the xbox before and it basically made my fingers hurt, but lighting things on fire is pretty straight forward

I grew up on Daggerfall, so Morrowind was a small disappointment (very tiny world, not too many random dungeon crawl quests), while Oblivion was horrendous. I think they forgot to ship the game with a plot.

    A Daggerfall sized world+random quests+Oblivion combat+Morrowind type plot and environ/enemy variety=Instant buy.

I...I liked Oblivion. And the Isles of Madness is one of the most inspired DLC I've never had to pay for but would have if they offered it.

    Yesss Shivering Isles is awesome.

That should have been the main game, and the vanilla Oblivion plot the expansion.

I beat that DLC and never picked up the game again. Or at least never continued on that save.
I mean what's the point of going back and finishing up random dungeons when you're now a god?

Doing random shit in Cyrodiil BECAUSE you're a god. Or Daedric Prince. Which are not the same things.

Morrowind was fuckin' fantastic. What my kid brother, my father and I would do was play a beast race, most commonly Argonian. Then we'd go around and set free all the slaves we had keys for. Unfortunately, some slaves had no keys and that made us very sad. If that was the case, we killed the owners.

One day, I got really bored with my level 89 character (yes, I have no life, shut it), and decided to rack up a 1 million gold bounty on my head. It did not work so well. I quit after 5k 'cause I got bored.

My house? Telvanni. Redoran was too... noble. Hlaluu was just... ehh. Telvanni was just fuckin' ruthless. I love those guys so much. If you stole something and got away with it, well clearly you deserve what you stole because the other guy couldn't keep it. <3

Also, Oblivion was meh until Shivering Isle. Most of my save files are of me just before talking to Sheogorath after every quest completion. He says such crazy things! <3

The best thing in Morrowind was getting the boots of blinding speed, that enchanted god's arm thing that lets you see a bit with the boots on, enchanting a ring with permanent levitate and just flying everywhere. Whenever you'd get to your destination there'd be about 200 cliff racers trailing you.

I loved those damn boots. I can't find the Phat Lute. I really want to. I've been told that it's in The Three Plates in Balmora.

Also, fuck cliff racers. I have a friend who went into the editor and removed every single one from the game.

Man, Cliff Racers are easy to kill if you either A: Pack a bow, or B: Purchase Spark form Arille at the very beginning of the game and have a half decent Destruction skill.

Oblivion tried to balance things too much.
The best thing about Morrowind was that you could do something cheap like build a ring of constant healing or levitation.
When i made my first ring of regeneration and traveled through lava unscathed i felt like the smartest wizard.

I'd dress her up in a pink see-through bra and panties, switch the camera to third person and rush into battle.

Then I'd just take my hands off the controls and put them on myself.

Stroking myself gently as I watched her get smacked around and listened to her screams.

I was so disappointed when I discovered that you couldn't chop doors down in Morrowind. I didn't miss "HALT HALT HALT HALT HALT HALT HALT" though.

I was disappointed in Oblivion when you couldn't go to the Dren plantation and steal the best crap in the game at level 1 and everything was leveled and all the named gear was total crap.

This is not a good trend Bethesda.

Eh. I bought it and played it for a while, but there are a couple of things I dislike about it. The combat system is goddamned horrendous. The skill system is goddamned horrendous. The loot is completely unrelated to your level, which I know some of you like, but I hated. It's too big and complex, and lastly, run speed is waaaay too slow for that huge a world. Boots of blinding speed are hell yes, though.

Holy shit, this is prolly my favorite game of all fucking time. Not saying it doesn't have flaws, but the flaws are generally in the player's favor, and you have to choose to exploit them. My favorite character was a Breton magicy type. Mods are a must: http://www.mwmythicmods.com/telesphoros.htm

Passive healthy wildlife is good for making cliffracers less irritating.
Face expansions and better bodies are a must.

Damnit, why'd you bring this game up when I have a big paper to write? Are you trying to make me fail?
