I'm not really familiar with the guilty gear games (I played guilty gear X I think a long time ago), but this looked a lot like that old Marvel vs. Capcom game from years ago (I'm not saying it'll play that way or anything, but that's what it looks like), but with bizzaro world japanese characters. That's not necessarily a bad thing, Marvel vs. Capcom was a metric buttload of fun back in the day.

OK, well that decreases greatly the chances of this ever coming to PS2 or Wii, although there is still a remote possibility.

Jin look kind of like a Ky/Johnny Hybrid of sorts. Always like Johnny but thought he had a somewhat limited move set. Think I'll have a way better time with Jin. His air control looks awesome.

I was confused with Alucard at first too...then I read it backwards. Consider my mind blown.

I'll be picking this up...probably playing as the Ky-esque guy(dude with the katana whose fighting the Sol-esque guy).

The animation, oh gawd, perfection!

On a side note, a lot of fictional vampires take on the nickname Alucard, and it's never their real name.

I'm a big fan of Johnny's style in GG, and it looks like Jin will have to fit that bill, along with some of Ky's projectile flexibility.

C'mon guys, why not 360 and PS3, eh eh? The 360 pad sucks major balls for this type of fighter but damn if I'm not being optimistic. After GG's down spiral in to revision hell and then some 3D Dynasty Warriors 'sequel' it's about time my faith in Arc was restored.

Both are a sure bet. Well, a 360 version is at least.

You can always buy an arcade stick. Alternatively, I think there's going to be some kind of Capcom fighting game pad released when SFIV comes out anyway... I think... whatever. Arcade controls rule anyway.

Those revisions were completely optional. You could buy GGXX in 2002 and be happy. But the revisions and balances and remixes were made for the fans of the series. The dare I say hardcore fans of the series. And the arcade-goers.



Anyway, I agree with you in that the 360 pad sucks for 2D fighters.. or just about anything... and that the 3D Guilty Gear does not sit well with me when they could be doing something useful. :P

From what I read from the SRK thread though, the console versions won't be in developement for some time seeing they don't want to distract people from the arcade version.

Also, a person working in Aksys who is posting over there is saying that they are looking into some netcode.

Either way the console version is still a long way away.

Oh I never bought of those revisions (though Accent Core for £5 sure is damn tempting... were it not for the dreadful announcer voice change), I did buy GGX2 and was very, very happy with it. I just felt that with all that work on those revisions and spin-offs they could've made a GGX3 instead.

As for controls I grew accustomed to the PS2 pad, I worked in some shortcut buttons and everything was peachy. Shit, I even used the analogue stick, which was far better than the d-pad in my opinion :P

Man, this game looks gorgeous, and better yet, it seems to be retaining the rock themed soundtrack. Good to hear.

Guilty Gear is pretty much the only fighter I've gained any real expertise in, so I hope the skill set I've learned in GG will transfer over to Blaz Blue as well. I'm seeing a lot of GG-ish features in the game though, so I guess it's nothing to worry about.

If the only thing that is keeping you from buying AC is the voice announcer change, than you might as well skip it. Unless you have competition, or you need to keep up with the arcades, you really only need one version of GG for casual play. Though, I'm not sure how much £5 is so eheheheh. >_>;

Alright, looking around the interwebs, and found the actual release date for Arcades: November 18 2009. Includes you lucky Americans, unlike others. You just need to contact (pester) your local arcade and see if they're interested.

Those screenshots look amazing, but the lack of shadows is kinda jarring, especially apparent in the Noel v Tager shot. Not that I'd notice them in a fight but still.

From what I've read arcade is their top priority, so realistically we should be able to see it in 6 months.

I'm not as excited about this as I should be, I think. It feels like these characters are re-hashes of Guilty Gear. The animation looks gorgeous, though. I hope they do something for GG again soon; I miss playing as Slayer.

Sadly I don't see a speed freak to translate my chipp game play too. Though when this hits consoles I'll probly pick it up. Especialy if they fixed the horrible lag that reload oxbox had.

Noel seems fast enough to fit the bill, though she does have a focus on range.

I just hope there is a character with counters so my Baiken experience isn't wasted.

Whoops I didn't even notice it was a gatling gun ,so yea that's cool. But I'm also in the Noel bandwagon although I haven't really been following BlazBlue as much as the other big 3 fighters on the horizon.
