I would like the storm to come to me
The night that I am dying
Returning home from the dance of life
And the light of the sinner is going out,
That every minute would be filled with screaming from the sky
That the world would be like one long continuous scream
And I would not hear the silence coming for me
Or the engine of the car stopping
To buy a HDTV or not to buy a HDTV, that is the question.
Personally, I wouldn't until HDTV broadcasts are mainstream (ie. don't cost £rape per month from Sky or Virgin Media), unless you're really into console gaming or you're buying a new tv anyway.
Well I do have a PS3 and a 360, but still. This is what I was looking at.
Edit: stilist, I very nearly said that. But thought better of it.

The cost of HDTVs still makes me wince slightly inside, though less so than it used to. When the prices get to consistently below around £200 for a 32" ish screen I'll be interested.

I dunno, I can just about justify buying a £400 telly to attach to £500 worth of console. Just about.
Over this summer I was pretty damn close to getting a massive HDTV screen, I think the thing that stopped me was the chance of it getting nicked in dorms. But soon as I get my own place, I'm going to get one that makes everyone think I've got a minuscule knob.
However, I really appreciate the increase in fidelity and console game a fair amount.

True.
I think my thing comes from the fact that £200 is the amount of money I can comfortably afford to blow in any given month without too much concern. Once things start creeping above that I get a lot more wary. Plus I hate buying stuff on credit.

Clearly you're thinking along the same lines as Microsoft and Nintendo.
I have a desktop computer, but I almost never use it. When I moved I made sure that my desk setup was flexible enough that I can us it for other things, instead of it being entirely monopolised by computers.
Did you know Chinese party officials dye their hair black, because Confucius said that 'white haired people' should be cared for and not do any hard work (Bell, 2008)?

Top of page 3? You mean I just narrowly missed getting the new [chat] thread by only two pages? Darn it.
At least we have a decent [chat] title now.
I have never seen those clips in your OP, so the title doesn't speak to me.
I would probably have gone with "I can see Russia from my [chat]".
TV on the Radio is far more fun than having to listen to another line of Palin's vile populist buzz-word-filled phrases. If I was going to be witty I would have gone for "Obama is a [chat]torist"

Sinn Féin are the political group. Sin féin just means "to me". Their name literally means "We ourselves"

I would do the same, but my flat just isn't big enough for me to have a separate desk. I mostly use a laptop.
I have a 24" monitor.
I'm a full two inches better than you, Echo.
I make up for it with the massive girth of my broadband penis.
so its only 20 inches
and its almost 4 years old
Ya nye ponimayu...now and forever I cannot understand and it kills me.
kinda lame but then again i don't have to work today

That sucks.
I got sent home once for wearing sneakers. As a manager.
Of course I did that on purpose because the CEO was a cunt and I wanted to get sent home that day. This is going back like 10 years ago.
I'm trying to get into communism.
Or at least into a few former communists.
If you know what I'm saying.

Golden Age is from their new CD.
I'm not a huge fan of this particular song. I think it needs to grow on me. It doesn't grab me the same way "Wolf Like Me" did.
You haven't heard "Wolf Like Me"? o_O
It's their best song, in my opinion.
I really, really like "Staring At The Sun," too, from way back when.

They are pretty awesome in general.
It's a shame it'll probably never be used, now.
It looks so tiny in that photo.
How can a human being even fit in that thing?
Yeah I just read about that. It's stupid. "Oh he's dead now let's not finish this practically complete totally awesome invention."
Way too small.
Alternate response: X-Com: Terror From The Deep, anyone?
Click on the thumbnail to open the big version. It shows a person in the cockpit (is that the right word to use for a submarine?).
Have you seen Steve Fossett?
Edit: I see it has the "industry-standard" man in there.
Holy shit that is HUGE. And the guy in the cockpit is clearly some kind of metal golem! Aieeeee!
(Yeah, I think cockpit is the right word.)
No...was he a small man?
