Too Many Games!

To all my Gamer Friends:

The Season of Gaming is upon us once again. There's so much to choose from this year and it's going to be an expensive one, at least for me. What I want to know is, what games you're going to buy in the next 2 1/2 months, what games interest you the most, or what games look the most promising to you guys. Just post a comment, or reply to this thread. I'll start it off. This year, so far, I have 13 games on reserve, 7 of which are fully paid, and there's still about 4 more I have to reserve. Not to mention, all the little ones that come out as downloads on XBLA, Virtual Console/WiiWare, or PSN. But, I won't post those here (I may add them later). The list of games I have reserved are:

-SOCOM: Confrontation w/ headset (PS3 - I'm just gonna trade the game in and keep the headset) *
-Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia (DS) *
-Chrono Trigger (DS - best game of all-time!)
-Gears of War 2 CE (Xbox360) *
-Fallout 3 CE (Xbox360) *
-Fable 2 CE (Xbox360) *
-Rune Factory 2 (DS - for my woman) *
-Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (Wii)
-Animal Crossing: City Folk (Wii - also for my woman)
-World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King CE (PC - another for my woman)
-Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility (Wii - that makes 4 for her now)
-Prince of Persia (Xbox360)
-Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (Xbox360) *

And here are the ones I still need to reserve:

-Mirror's Edge (Xbox360 - the game looks amazing)
-Call of Duty: World at War CE (Xbox360)
-Kingdom Hearts RE: Chain of Memories (PS2)
-The Last Remnant (Xbox360)

I'm going to end up having to Gamefly most of these titles due to lack of funds. However, I am fairly sure I am buying GoW2 and either Fallout 3 or Fable 2....probably Fallout.

I figure if I ignore 2/3 of the games that come out in the next 2 months then I'll have lots of games to play until the next holiday rush. Only games that I know for sure I'm getting are:

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (Pre-order bonus is too good to pass up)
Left 4 Dead
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

Then I'll toss most of the games and on birthday/christmas lists, maybe pick out a choice 3-4. Included in that list is like, Kirby Super Star DS, Tales of Vesperia, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, Fallout 3, Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, probably some more that I've forgotten about.

That's just an insane amount of games. Thank god I only have a 360, otherwise you would have to add LBP and Socom.

Honestly though, I'll probably buy maybe a third of those games and just wait for the rest to go down in price.

I've got a large backlog of games and not enough time, but I guess that's how the world works. I probably won't buy another game for a year until I beat all the ones I have access to via friends or sitting waiting to be played. The next 5 for me are:

The Force Unleashed (renting while my wife is out of town)
Super Mario Galaxy (still in shrink wrap)
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (still in shrink wrap)
Command and Conquer: Red Alert (have not beaten either campaign)
Legend of Zelda: Windwaker

Not a lot of interest in Far Cry 2 so far. Would have expected that. Valkyria Chronicles and Chrono Trigger are my must-haves, but I suspect I'll get Fallout too.

A friend of mine recently had his emotion engine 80gb PS3 stolen from his apartment. In hunting for a new PS3 a local shop told him that one of their shops in a different area happen to have a bunch 60gb PS3s still brand new in box and that they'll have that store send the local one some of them. If I happen to walk into the store at the right time, then I'll be getting Little Big Planet.

Normally I'd just buy everything I want, but my wife and I just bought a new home and some other big-ticket items and so I need to watch the budget more than normal. There are so many things on my want-list that I won't be able to afford them all. So if I play it smart I'll get only a couple of the big ones and put the rest off until after the holidays.

Holiday seasons are always ridiculous, however this year's seems especially brutal.

There's no way I'm going to be able to afford to get all of these titles right when they come out. I've got the Fallout 3 Collector's Edition, Wrath of the Lich King Collector's Edition and Persona 4 already preordered and paid for.

I'll have to pick up Fable II, Gears of War 2, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, Resident Evil 5 and KINGDOM HEARTS ReChain of Memories as I can later.

I'm going to try to not buy anything except maybe Rock Band 2 disc only for the Wii. In an attempt to save money and actually play the games I buy I've starting playing my first MMORPG (WoW) and will dedicate the fall/winter to that. I figure $15/month is less than I normally spend on gaming and the time I spend playing online will reduce the time I spend reading about new games to blow my money on.

Mirror's Edge and Fable 2 seem the likely candidates to be delayed...

Persona 4 & Eternal Poison are the only 2 games I have preordered so far. Persona 4 is an obvious, but I'm also excited about Eternal Poison because I like the developers behind it (the Summon Night guys + Banpresto, makers of the Super Robot Wars games) plus I figure if I turn out to hate it, I'll be able to sell it back for little to no extra cost (since I preordered, I should be getting the art books). Heck, I might even make a profit.

I'm tempted to preorder Banjo-Kazooie because of the free XBLA game, but I'm not sure that I want the new game, especially with all the other cool stuff coming out.

Come to think of it, I can't think of a single Wii game I really want this season (downloads excluded) although my wife & daughter are both way excited about the new My Sims game. Tons of 360 games I want (Fallout 3, Fable 2, Last Remnant, Dead Space, Left 4 Dead, Gears of War 2, Prince of Persia, etc.), but there's no way on earth that I'm going to have enough money or time to play everything. Plus there's some games I missed when they were released that I want like the DQ4 remake & remake of Colonization.

Oh and just to make things even harder on my wallet, I'm tempted to pick up one of the new PSPs.
