My grandpa just drank himself from 14 all the way to 75.. I can't believe he's still alive..

    Anyway..
Speaking of PAX fever.. I just realized that I can go this year! This is news to me, as before there was something stupid going on.. this date change has made 2009 worth while.

    ZEEEEKE!

    ITS A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!

We have to buy you lunch or something this year, for reals.

Okay.. so let me get this straight tho. Pax WASN'T supposed to be on labour day weekend for a few more years. It WAS supposed to be the last weekend of August. But now PAX IS on Labour day weekend.. In September? If this is correct.. Why was the change made?

The decision to hold PAX on Labor Day weekend going forward is threefold:

    1. Given 70% of attendees are coming in from out of town, it allows for 1 extra day of travel as opposed to rushing back on Friday night.
    2. Seattle (despite Bumbershoot being that same weekend) is actually dead in terms of out-of-town travel on Labor Day Weekend. What this means is we're able to negotiate hotel room rates at much more aggressive rate than the week before - we're literally talking a difference of hundreds of dollars for the weekend for attendees.
    3. Because most conferences/trade shows are business-to-business, we're actually able to get the space we need as opposed to being crammed in with another large show.

    It makes tons of sense.

Plus if you stay an extra day you can at least catch a little bit of Bumbershoot if you like.

    See y'all there in Sept.

    Hotel bound on PAX Saturday,
I exclaimed "Khoo is my Sensei!"
So if memes make great shirts,
    And Pod Six is Jerks,
Then Moe, Khoo and I had our day.

Hmm... looks like i'll be cutting it pretty close this year. Assuming I come up with the money to go to Northeastern, classes will start on the 9th of september. That means, I'll probably move in the week before.. aka PAX week. I predict a lot of flying that week, so I better start saving my money lol. But the good side is, once it all works out, I will be situated in the heart of boston just in time for pax east coast in march :P Google maps says its only a 15 minute walk to the convention center from the university :)

Since I live in Portland now, going to Seattle should be a breeze

    I'm definitely going this year

I am wanting to go to both bumbershoot and pax, but I'm probably just going to go to Pax.
