Yeah I won my Round 5 match.

Can't remember who I played... Ashton maybe? Ink? I don't even remember its been like a week.
Yeah that was me I think. I lost to you and Jugs, won against Nerd, Toasty and... maybe Speed? Can't remember. But I know I have 3 wins.
Now I'm waiting for round 6 Speed.

I can only think of one of my often-used pokemon who has Hypnosis, and there isn't really anything to replace it with once Platinum hits. I'll just have to live with the decreased accuracy.

I have fallen very far behind and need your help to catch up!

The following is my most updated list. Please help me update/correct it so I can post Round 5/6!
I've completed Round 4. I won against Zerokku but still have 3 points.

Yes, it's being reverted to previous accuracy levels. I don't know any details, but my guess is that connecting to Platinum will provide something like the Berry Glitch fix.

...so I've settled on a couple lineups I want to make. I like these guys, but I only want to breed one at a time. So... my first project's a Dunsparce. I think the little guy has more potential than he's given. Plus it'd be really fun to run one here. So, any ideas?

Take advantage of Serene Grace and effects that proc off of attacks.

Dunsparce is kinda like a not-as-great Togekiss, however.

I just realised that I had -no- Hypnotisers for the longest time, then I made a BUNCH and then a few days later the Hypnosis accuracy nerf was announced. Back to double-powder sets!

...Is there anything fast that learns both powders? Sceptile?

Sceptile does not in fact learn any powders.

I would suggest perhaps a Venusaur?

Double Powder is good in theory, but I would rather have a very sturdy subseeder/supporter (with sleep powder) than some frail guy who uses two slots for a predictable strategy that may not even work.

If you're going to put down Spikes, you have no time to Stun Spore, especially with pokes as frail as Roserade/Venomoth. Sleep Powder and Toxic Spikes is a very common Roserade set.

Double Powder is an iffy strat like I said, works a little better with sturdier pokes, for example Gallade, who remedies his physical weakness with Will-o-wisp as his second status.

Only problem with using Gallade that way is that you end up having to go for not-great-coverage on his two remaining moveslots, and Gallade's big selling point is his stunningly high attack, so...

My Gallade is 4HP/252ATK/252SPEED/Adamant, it's not particularly good. And I used a Stone Edge TM on him. D:

Double powder set, eh.. does Tangrowth get more than just sleep powder? I forget if it does, but its certainly sturdy enough for a double status set. It also gets leech seed, which makes things even better!

But with its base 50 Speed, the only way it'll ever be a sweeper is on a Trick Room team, or a Sunny Day team (which is even more rare than a Trick Room team, for whatever reason). It doesn't get too many good attacks anyway, aside from Power Whip, though at least it does get a few good physical attacks from TM, plus Swords Dance.

Come to think of it, two other decent Pokemon for a quasi-Double Powder set could be Spiritomb and Gardevoir. Both are fairly bulky, and have access to a wide variety of status moves and support, so there's not too many totally 'safe' switch ins.

Also, once I'm done eating.. are you free for our battle, Kay?

Well, Dunsparce is something I can breed a hundred of if I need to. Togekiss involves a friendship evo AND a rare stone evo.

I'm thinking of a nature positive on Speed, but I don't know what to reduce. Got to breed in Bite, anyways, though.

I wonder if a Gold and Silver remake would keep the D&P changes to game mechanics.

Would there be Elemental Punch tutors at Goldenrod?

So there'd be a graphical overhaul and Move Tutors all over the place for the old TMs, the new TMs distributed in their place. Since I imagine that it would be designed to be compatible with Diamond/Pearl I don't see any reason why the developers wouldn't keep all the design changes. I imagine it would be the same idea as Fire Red and Leaf Green. The map and everything is pretty much the same, but the gameplay changes would be implemented. After all, there's a Special Attack and Special Defense stat in FR/LG, but in R/B/Y it's just one Special stat.

Well there'd probably be a Thunderpunch Move Tutor. I doubt you'd be able to throw it about all willy nilly like before though, since it'll probably cost some sort of farmed item like the ones in Emerald.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I wonder what TMs they'd have for sale in their place in Goldenrod. Because that's way too early for people to start getting Ice Beam/Thunderbolt/Flamethrower and probably still too early to pick up Blizzard/Thunder/Fire Blast. I suppose they could just have the boring ones like Reflect and Protect and False Swipe and other utility moves, but that would be pretty boring.

Well Typhlosion's Attack isn't that bad, and unless you're making one for multiplayer you won't be worried about IVs or EVs (and probably not Nature, either) so it wouldn't be that unreasonable to throw it on one for type coverage while playing the main game. Of course, if they do like the Emerald ones, then you can't get to the Tutor until after the Elite Four, so that may present a bit of a problem.

They'll have to make a G/S/C remake eventually- the only way to get the old Johto starters and legends now is through two out-of-print GameCube games. Eventually, the sheer number of fans who never got to wander Johto will get Nintendo to remake them. Of course, they'll have to follow it up with FR/LG and R/S/E remakes, too.
