Half Life

Purchase it here for 98 cents. Hurry, offer ends this Friday at noon.
half-life-box.gif
What is Half Life?

Well, in case you have been living some rustic old shack in the middle of the mountains without any contact to the outside world, Half Life is the first game developed by Valve. Back in the day, it was groundbreaking. It revolutionized the way a story was told in FPS's. It didn't have bad gameplay either. It follows the adventure of mute Gordon Freeman, a theoretical physicist, through Black Mesa when a teleportation experiment goes horribly awry. It is up to Freeman and his trusty crowbar to take down aliens, soldiers, and whatever else stands in his way to save the world.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~

At the moment, Half Life is currently available on Steam for 98 cents. Really, I could go to WaWa and by a little pack of gum for the same price. Normally the game is $10.00 but if you buy it before this Friday (21st) at noon then you can have this awesome game for about 10% of its normal cost. Really, there is no reason to not purchase this. It will run on any computer (well, Windows that is) and is generally a great game. If you don't buy this, you are a flaming retard.

I prefer the original to the Source version. The old models having ragdolls is pretty much pointless, and the only thing that looks different is the water, which just manages to look out of place with all the other textures.

Misread it. Now fixed. I never played this game (was but a young one when it came out) so this is perfect for me.

I want to know where OP buys his bags of Skittles. Them's must be some gourmet quality Skittles. Or one of those bigger bags. King Size bags?

Anyway, I've already owned had Half-Life 1 (twice, one hard copy when boxes where still the sizes of a phone book and the digital copy that got released with Half-Life 2) and I wonder if it's possible to gift it at this price.

Not much to add, other than digital distribution has apparently made me too lazy to even root through a drawer and find my old disc serials - never got around to activating them. This raises some worrying questions.

Still, it's at #5 on the Steam charts, so there's evidently plenty of like-minded lazy people. I mean, people can't use steam and not own a copy of HL1 in some form, right?

Okay, so I have a copy of Half-Life on a disc from forever ago. Is it possible to install it and add it to my Steam account, or do I have to rebuy it over Steam?

You can install it from the disc and have it tied to your Steam account.

Man, I would always get half way through Half Life and it's expansions and freak out. I played the shit out of everything else in my GOTY pack though. Who's up for some co-op?

The copy of Half-Life 1 I have is my original copy I got ten years ago. If you put in your old HL1 CD key, it should work fine, and if it's anything like my old one, give you Opposing Force and Blue Shift for free to boot.
