So there aren't really any technical limitations. It's more about just how ridiculous and unmanageable threads become when they are 740 pages long.

If it only does that when that specific thread is loaded, then we should have 1 thread that is allowed to just get stupidly huge since it won't affect the rest of the forum.
A thread that never gets locked, goes on forever. It will become "that thread we dare not speak of" that everyone is afraid to go into. Over time, it's growth will slow from this fear, so it will only add perhaps 1-2 pages per month. But it will grow, nonetheless. People will brave it, even if only occasionally. Soon it will be thousands, tens of thousands, millions of pages long. People will tremble at the thought of entering the abyss.
Once per year, some poor pathetic newbie will start from page one and try to read the whole thing. The authorities will find him dead a month later, emaciated from lack of nutrients. The police will all look at each other, shake their heads, and say "It got another one."
It will be beautiful.

Yes. I'm technically considered a manager, but I don't really manage anything. I just review reports and oversee meetings with a group of managers below me, and then browse the web and trade stocks. So, I decided to call myself an "executive" instead. Seemed more appropriate.
