Maybe I've just had bad experiences, but most PA guilds I have been in were riddled by inactivity after the initial 2 weeks. :? Might as well join an active guild and accept that there's some kids in it who would be banned from PA the moment they tried to post a reply.
this happens with a lot of smaller leveling guilds though. and I understand it. I played this game for about 2.5 hrs when I installed it and haven't touched it since, its quite well polished for a F2P game, and the engish isn't terrible either. I only crashed once, which was and inconvenience. combat also seemed unnecessarily laggy.
but since I installed and experienced all that, I haven't played this game for a minute. I've strongly considered it numerous times, but just decided there were other games/things that required my attention more than this.
so yea, like aldo said, find an active guild thats already out there, I know that the PA group is almost always fun to play with, but it just can't always happen.

I'd agree with all that. I just don't think this game is going to attract a strong following here at PA.
It's rare that I play, but then again my interest in MMO's isn't what it used to be in years past.

I'm having fun with this so far, feel free to look up Xifos or Regoras on Artemis. I am worried the cash shop will be too necessary in late levels, but so far it's a nice WoW surrogate. My main gripe is mount expenses... $10/20 for a permanent mount, per character. Or you can rent them in game for what's currently a decent chunk of gold. I'm sure that it won't be a lot of gold once I'm further along, but I *really* hate walking in mmos, so it will nag me until I buy one.
The game is still in the early stages, where class roles are vague, so my need to be the main tank class makes me twitchy (I wanted K/M, but was told K/W was a better tank. Got that going and was told K/M was better...), and my GF's desire to be a top healer was squashed by her hatred of melee (so P/K was too tedious for her). The dual class system is neat, but I'm not sold on it.
About time I found this thread. I started playing this a couple of days ago and I'm hooked. I'm talking, WoW hooked. I have a 29/29 Knight Warrior, and I fucking love it. I'm actually able to level as a tank, and that's a feat no other MMO has allowed me to accomplish. I leveled a Paladin in WoW, and I couldn't do anything as protection until mid 50s.
Anways, look up Morvidus on Osha. I'll be making a Mage/Warden or Mage/Priest soon. I have a couple of experience charms made just for alts.
Anyone else play this?
I downloaded it on a whim and was very skeptic. The name of the game, the races, and the classes all seemed very generic (all though these days it seems like every fantasy uses the same shit), but I was very pleasantly surprised.
The first thing I really like is the Dual Job system. It seems like an improved version of FFXI's subjob system. First, a lot of cool stuff carries over between classes. For example, I'm currently a Druid/Scout, and I bunch of cool bow abilities even though I'm a caster guy.
Second, and this is the part I thought was most impressive: every single class combination has 8 unique elite skills that you get every 5 levels starting from 15. Note that these combinations are order-dependent, meaning a Primary Priest/Secondary Mage will get different elite skills than a Mage/Priest. The elite skills seem like a really cool way to create flavor and role differentiation.
For example, Priest/Knight is more heal/utility focused and gets holy-flavored skills, like Sacrificial Cure (sacrifice your HP to heal an ally).
On the other hand, Priest/Mage is more eclectic/CC-oriented, and has more elemental spells (while still maintaining some Priest-like elites, such as summoning angels).
Also, each Priest/X combination has an elite to summon a different fairy (i.e. Priest/Knight summons a holy fair, Priest/Mage summons a wind fairy, and they all do different things).
There's also Guild Castles and sieges, and a pretty cool pet system (separate from classes, some of which, like Warden, get their own pets) where you can raise pets, combine them, breed them, and all that Monster Rancher/Pokemon shit.
RoM hasn't managed to grab my attention, maybe because the client and downloader were rather unstable a while ago, maybe because LOTRO occupies most of my gaming time (scarce) or maybe because the game is too generic once you get past the dual class system.
The game also suffers from stiff competition: WoW clones are dime in a dozen.

I found it hard to play the game for very long. For my part, I just can't get into games where the primary use of your time is "Go here, and kill X number of something".
Which basically means I'm not really playing any MMO's right now. But that's really more on me than it is the games.
I keep hoping, though, that someone will break the cycle.
That said, this is an old thread and I'm sure the OP is pretty outdated. Since I don't play I won't be changing it anytime soon, so anyone who DOES is more than welcome to make their own.

City of Heroes has a great guild/supergroup.
There is a whole world of MMOs out there beyond WoW. You guys should really look into it.
