Let's talk about medication
I know what adderall is and I know what concerta is
basically I know all the shit I need to stay awake for
but my question is this: what the fuck do you take and WHY DO YOU TAKE IT
I am so normal I am not on peels like Louis, but I'm curious as to why y'all take peels and why it's so detrimental to your shit that you must take peels.
I guess it's 'cause I don't get it and I would like to understand
I take medication as rarely as possible. Benadryl's about it. I have a pretty bad mosquito allergy.\, so every year or so I get bad enough that I need something. I prefer the topical because it doesn't mess with my head, but the oral's more effective. My wisdom tooth acts up sometimes, so I'll use cough drops and Cepacol. I usually keep Tylenol, but I don't remember the last time I used it.
I was off and on Prozac for about five years for depression and somesuch. I hated it, but I needed it to function which just made me hate it more.

Man Prozac made me craaaaaaazy
Like, scary crazy. Not "Balki from Perfect Strangers" crazy.
We're did all this social network linking crap come from? First Google indexing us and now MyDeliciousFace bookmarking? Somebody is going to end up finding us for sure if this nonsense carries on.

I lucked out. It was the first thing we tried, it worked, and it had as few negative side effects as could be expected. Most of the time I just felt real disconnected.
When I was coming on it, coming off it, or if I forgot to take it a couple days ago I'd get stomach pains and be all disoriented. I got lost in my high school Junior year. I had to explain to Mr. Pitz that I was late because I couldn't find his classroom, even though I'd been taking German in the same room for three years.

When I was on Prozac, little ol sixth grade me once spent twenty minutes slamming my head on a brick wall
All I take is Excedrin because I get migraines all the goddamn time. Except for Winter, because I think a lot of my migraines have to do with my body overheating and humidity and shit, and Winter is cold, bitches.
That's why I love winter. That and snow. And Christmas. Really, there's few reasons to hate Winter.
I used to have a prescription pill called Midrin, or something, which was supposed to be better than Excedrin.
It worked, like, half the time. So I just went back to my tried and true.
I take adderall sometimes because I have ADHD and I tend to hyperfocus only on things I like and not focus on important shit like schoolwork.
I've been off it for a while now. Apparently you need to be off it for three to six months before they will let you join the armed forces, so thats why I was off it for so long, but since I scuttled that plan, I dunno why I don't take it more often... just lazy I guess.
Its almost like I need to take medication to remember to give enough of a shit about medication to take it in the first place.

There's a reason they don't like to give it to ten year olds.
For the first time EVER I could sit still and talk comfortably with people and not overthink everything and doubt myself at every fucking opportunity and I had lots of consistent energy instead of passive low energy all the fucking time I cna't do anything with.
Unfortunately that didn't last very long.
It still helps streamline my metabolism, though; I only really need to eat when I'm actually doing something now, instead of being passively kinda/sorta hungry all the fucking time.

Whoever was treating me then didn't share that philosophy, I guess.
The whole experience was terrifying enough that I just went cold turkey and decided to get my situation under control through sheer force of will.
Hal Jordan that shit.
I still have the occasional (very rare) episode, but it's better than full-fledged self-destruction.

The best part of being on Adderall was it just streamlined my ability to hyperfocus.
I was literally able to block anything and everything out of my mind when doing some activities. I would forget basic needs like food, and would hold my piss until it became almost painful. I was a Goddamn mentat. I could work for half a day without moving. I mean, I could pretty much do that before then, but I was less efficient.
