I just started playing this last night and I have to say that it is a very enjoyable game. Are there any other games out or coming soon that have this kind of humorous/action/adventure/rpg element?
PS. Co-op is a must.

I played so much Castle Crashers when it came out. Beat it with about 8 characters and leveled at least one to 80+
I never played online because of the fears of getting my game erased. I noticed it updated the other day. Is this to fix that issue?
I wonder if they're going to have any DLC in the near future. (Extra characters..weapons?) Looks like I got into the game at the right time though, I didn't realize there were so many technical problems.
This was my favourite game of 2008 alongside Rock Band 2.
Can't wait for the DLC, need an excuse to start playing it again. Like Raijin, I beat this game with a whole bunch of characters, max leveled a couple, got all weapons etc.
Wish the boomerang glitch wasn't patched though.

Well, the game looks like it's sold about half a million copies to date and continually is at or near the top of the best XBLA sellers of the week charts. Even though I'm not particularly enticed by the DLC, I imagine it'll still rake in the money.

I was looking at the soundtrack for the game on the newgrounds website, and the authors who have blogs commented they got a decent royalty check with the new year. None gave an actual figure but it's nice they got something for their efforts.

What efforts 5 months NEVAR FORGET
Well it's not the musician's fault the software was shit.
The music is probably the only part of the game that had no bugs.
Excellent! So patches auto-download right.... Or do you have to track it down and add it to the queue?
I lost all my animals and weapons once, but luckily all my characters were intact.
Castle Crashers was pretty sweet.. for like two days. The first play through was great, a lot of stuff to laugh at, but I couldn't get myself to play through it again with another character.

Is there any way to unlock this guy without buying Alien Hominid HD? I already have the OXbox version, I'm not super keen on buying it again - although have a version that actually works on 360 would be nice...
Ive always been interested in this game...is it really as good as people say? I know nothing about it other than all the little knights look the same but different colours.

Personal review: Make sure you play it with someone else. Single player is boring. The first time you play through it's fun, there are a good amount of legitimately funny moments. It's short though (only a few hours) and once you beat it all that's left is to play through it again with other characters.
Only problem is that the second time through the funny moments aren't funny having seen them already and the characters aren't really different enough to justify the repetition. (The characters are all the same aside from the magic they cast, but there are only a few different types of magic anyway. Most of them are just reskins of the same spell. One guy drops arrows from the sky, next guy drops a bee from the sky, next guy drops weapons from the sky, etc..)
So a few hours of good times followed by either zero replay value if you're like me or a pretty good amount of replay if you like playing the same game again with what's basically a different character skin. If it was $10 I would feel better about it than at $15.
On the other hand myself and a few others played it over and over again levelling each character, and enjoying every playthrough. I felt there was enough fun and variety to warrant "one more romp", especially after a few beers, quite a few times. The characters only become noticeably different after they have levelled a bit, and playing it on hard difficulty is a whole different beast than the standard game.
Seriously it was my favourite game of last year, and well worth the cash to me. Co-op is loads of fun.
All pricing for this and future downloadable content is entirely decided on by Microsoft. All we can do is throw in our input (free!!!!!) but at the end of the day it’s their decision.
Huh? Is this really the case? I thought MS highly suggested companies ask for payment but never imposed thier own prices. Shouldnt it be thier own business if they dont want to charge people for it?

It's bullshit. MS charges them a certain price to release DLC, so they're using the 180 funbux to recoup that price. I'm sure they already made that cost back selling tiny figurines and t-shirts.
edit: hell, the content was in the original. this is 108KB, it's obviously an unlock code. if they had wanted it to be free they would've included it in the original release, no?

While I don't know all the details. My thoughts are that there is a cost incurred by Microsoft on DLC also. It has to be tested and bandwidth needs to be paid for. I am sure if the developer wanted to pay for that cost they could release it for free.
How does one unlock the harder difficulties? I was playing at a friends house and we beat the game, but didn't see any Hard or Insane mode open up.
Make sure you've beaten all the levels. If you only made it up to, say, level 3, then you joined some friends who were on level 6 and beat the game, you still have to beat levels 3-5 to unlock the higher difficulties. I think.

As it's just an unlock code.. they could have put it in the auto update. They spent 5 months working on the damn patch, tossing in a couple unlocks as a "thanks for putting up with our shit" seems like it'd be worth the additional effort.

Yep. it's pretty depressing that people are paying for this shit, guaranteeing it will continue

They patched the boomerang glitch? Damnation!
Well, this was "leaked" sometime last year;

they've got some nerve charging for that 5 months after their game came out, when it's finally playable.

Despite the bugs, I enjoyed the Hell out of this game.

Actually, this is now the latest update from the dev team
Castle Crashers DLC - King Pack (160 MSP) Jan 14, 2009. Assuming they release it at the normal 2-3 PST, that's like a few hours away...
I played this with MrDelish and FightTest awhile back, it was pretty fun
