Yeah, it's another Synth stays at home and watches tv thread again.

Last time we watched someone get his penis mutilated, and a wall of dongers. Tonight it's... Monster Camp on ABC2 (sorry non digital folk).

And we're delving into the terrifying world of Larpers. So far we've been with the Plotmaster describing the rules of the game (with a healthy side digression into WoW). His breasts strain nauseatingly against the thin fabric of his shirt as he goes through all this.

Also a guy sulking about how he cant possibly be undead and reciting long math in the middle of a 'pitched' battle.

Oh gof now he's playing Final Fantasy Tactics.

    It looks like they're keeping track of their own hitpoints so they have to do all that math, hence yelling out numbers when they hit each other.

    yeah but...

    So does any attack just do a certain amount of damage? Maybe color-based? I see they mostly have one color of sword but not all of them. And what if you can hit a guy like ten times in two seconds, does that count as that many hit points off the guy?

    Surely all LARP fights are pitched battles?

    The way they should do larp is that you have stats based on your actual stats and fights should be resolved with actual fights. so like "ok Jim you can deadlift 500lbs so I guess you're strength 9" "oh sweet, I'm going to kick the shit out of kevin" "WAIT NO I HAVE CHARISMA 8 I PERSUADE YOU NOT TO AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" *BASH BASH BASH*

    I kind of assumed that larp would be more like that, just kicking each other heads in in the woods like we used to do at scouts but apparently it is more like playing a board game only you make an idiot of yourself in public.

    The only reason I ever joined the SCA was to pick some those fighting styles. The limited role playing I let myself be exposed to was rather uncomfortable. Though I imagine it could get incredibly fun based on much I drink.
