[NDS] Blue Dragon Plus - Fear and awe, Starin' down Eternity, etc
You have terrible taste in music then Elimination.
Apparently. I mean people these days enjoy music by Fallout Boy and Jonas Brothers so i must be doing something wrong musically. And songs like this appear in video games.

Have you thought that the boss battle music is just too awesome for you? Like, your awesome meter explodes and you don't know what's going on anymore, so you awake in a daze of hatred?

Jeez just because a lot of fucktards like some band doesn't make the band itself fucktard...ed
I'm just a normal guy who loves FOB
Anything wrong with that? 8-)
Mistwalker has expressed interest before at turning Blue Dragon into a franchise. This was just the next logical step to meet that end.
But why though
Seriously
Why
Just take the (excellent) battle system and use it in the next Lost Odyssey
Oh, and Akira Toriyama can suck a chode. Most of the time he does good work but it really feels like he dialed it in with character designs in BD
Not very distinctive at all
It's way too late to complain about it, the series already is a francihise in Japan. It's hugely popular and has a Manga, Anime, Trading Card Game and of course despite it's 'meh' sales on 360 has spawned two sequels. Sakaguchi has gone on record saying that a sequel is in the planning stages, and he's talking about a true sequel. The series has to be doing something well to spawn two 360 games and two DS spinoffs.
Sakaguchi has said in his blog that he wants to do another Lost Odyssey though, and he's also said he's working on a big new franchise that is 'make or break' for him.
Also, for the record for you guys: Eternity without the Singing. From the Single release in Japan (yes, it was released as a single.) This game's OST isn't as good as Lost Odyssey, but saying this game/series has terrible music is unfair. Eternity's lyrics were written by Sakaguchi too, and aren't Uematsu's doing. Without the lyrics, Eternity has a lot in common with the best of the FF OSTs.

Not really, but i just like to make fun of you anyways. Anything wrong with that? 8-)
Breaking News: King Jibral is a total fucking badass. Damage? Fuck that, he's King Jibral. He can take it. Meanwhile Jiro is a total fucking pussy who couldn't take one watera sword without dying due to being a gigantic pussy. You used to at least be able to take a hit Jiro. What the hell happened to you?
Also there's no way to skip scenes before battles and the text speed can't be changed to instant. You can only speed it up. This is going to be really annoying if there's actually a really difficult battle placed after a long scene.
Yeah I played the first level last night and it's pretty cool. The pathing is pretty good (which was my main annoyance on another RTS DS game) and the music is all there. I saved right after the fight (was playing far too much TF2 last night) but can you redo levels or anything Gilder? Like, can you grind?
The best parts of the original Blue Dragon were the Battle System and the music. The only thing that sucked about the battle system is I was about level 70 when I reached the final boss, and had learned all class abilities with all classes, and maxed out the one I wanted the stat boosts with for each character (+all the secret armor). This made me so powerful that THE FINAL BOSS DIDN'T EVEN GET ONE TURN BEFORE I KILLED HIM. It was REALLY depressing.
That being said. Amazing music (other than the boss theme). I'm going to buy this game sometime soon. It's either this or DQV next.
I'll agree that this game felt very much so like Dragon Warrior II to me. Just with beautiful HD graphics.
I'm glad you guys are enjoying it. Blue Dragon was weird for me. I bought it secondhand for something like 20$ at the time and after playing it for a few hours I thought to myself "oh this is why it was only 20$".
I don't know why, I think it might have been the lack of RPGs I owned, but I decided to keep playing. Second disc gets put in, third disc, and then I finish it. I don't think I ever said a good thing about the game to my friends but ever since I finished it I always wish I could go back to it. It's like I can't satisfy my thirst for a classic jrpg now that I finished Blue Dragon even though I didn't find anything particularly good about it.
God I miss it
(totally going to pick this up once I finish DQV)
Sebbie on
"It's funny that pirates were always going around searching for treasure, and they never realized that the real treasure was the fond memories they were creating."
Yeah my only real complaint with Blue Dragon was there wasn't any postgame quests. Considering how rewarding the battle system made customizing your characters and leveling them up, and that several of the achievements were about maxing out your characters, there totally should have been a post-final boss dungeon or two. I never checked for Downloadable content though.
Alight guys, I finally beat DQ5 last week so I picked this up again. I've now made some actual progress so if anyone has any questions, I think I can answer them now. The only thing I don't know about is making mecha-robos because I'm not that far yet. I have gotten quests though and let me tell you that they can be a bitch and a half. Holy shit the first protection mission is hard. You have to guard a robot while no less than 10 enemies swarm you and wreck your shit up to the max.
urahonky I'm over a month late on this but if you still don't know, yes you can grind for levels if you need to. You can move onto any space in the cube and get in a random battle for experience. Just don't do the huge maps because maneuvering them is a pain in the ass.
