THE DEAD WALK AGAIN AS CAPCOM CONFIRMS DEAD RISING 2
Sequel to 1.5 million-plus seller announced for multiple gaming platforms
London February 9, 2009 - Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that Dead Rising 2 is in development for three different gaming platforms: the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Sony Computer Entertainment PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3) and the PC. The sequel to the 1.5 million-plus selling Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2 will take the franchise to a new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies, the all new gambling paradise of Fortune City to explore and conquer plus a host of new in-game objects that can all be used as deadly weapons to stave off the zombie assault.
Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the infamous zombie invasion of Willamette. Unfortunately, the zombie virus was not contained at the conclusion of Dead Rising, spreading unchecked throughout the United States and Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike.
Dead Rising 2 is being developed in partnership with up and coming Canadian developer Blue Castle Games. A number of members from the original Dead Rising team will be working alongside Blue Castle Games throughout the development process, including Capcom's global head of research and development, Keiji Inafune, who as the game's Producer will play an active role in the project.
Released in 2006, Dead Rising won praise across the globe for its mix of intense zombie action and dark humour, garnering numerous awards including IGN's Most Innovative Design for Xbox 360, Gamespot's Best Action-Adventure Game for 2006 and Action Game of the Year at the 2006 Spike TV Video Game Awards.
Further details concerning the story and gameplay of Dead Rising 2 will be made available shortly.

But you can kill zombies...
With a hamster ball.
I don't understand your statement.
Funny enough, if zombies overran a casino there are people who would not even look up from the machines.
Dead Rising was far from perfect. They really need to improve NPC AI and such like DarkWarrior suggests. That said, even just a re-skin of the mall would be a welcome addition to my game library.
Do not engage the Watermelons.
Tango down.
NPC AI would be a welcome addition, but even without that I'll play the hell out of this game. The original was one of the major reasons I bought a 360 and is definitely one of my favorite games of the last few years, warts and all.
You might know me as D'Brickashaw on Steam.
which is kind of strange, considering they have almost no track record to speak of.
What you don't see is what's he's running from

Honestly, if they can teach Oatis how to call my cell and just leave me a damn message instead of getting in a snit all the time it'd be improvement enough. Everything after that is really just extra, though appreciated.
Nice Tripod logo.
Hopefully it's like Halo 1's co-op, and nothing like RE5.
Damn you for reminding me of that game!
Ohhh yeah....fuck Otis. Forgot about that cocknocker. I'd settle for still being able to fight while he's talking. Still, it's an awesome game.

If Ding Chavez rappels into a casino full of zombies, I guarantee Ding Chavez walks out the front door unscathed.

Move along, fellas. Nothin' to see here.

It'll never be perfect, i.e there were no real back rooms and such like you'd find in DOTD and so I wouldn't expect to find myself as part of a hotel/casino where I can kick open rooms and explore the remains of the residents. I would expect instead a chunk of open town cut off by earthquake.
Did you even watch the video?
I'd play it.
In this day and age of PR, they like to control perception by releasing the highest of high def trailers they can, not a youtube video.. I mean Square-Enix have banned the downloads of the FF13 trailer full-stop.
Why would Capcom, or somebody who's leaking the video and breaking an NDA, put fake in the tags? It doesn't make sense.

It looks like a rip off of the new DOTD style.
You ever heard of a little thing called viral marketing?
Rock Band DLC | GW:OttW - arrcd | WLD - Thortar
Factor in his account being based in the UK, too. If it was viral marketing, chances are it'd be handled by a US PR company who would set up a brand new US YouTube account to start the viral from. Capcom only have a shadow team over in this company for PR; I know this bit as they only handle review code, for interviews and stuff you have to go straight to Capcom USA; they don't have the infrastructure to set up a viral from this country.
That said, this guy clearly does have something going on, as he's got some exclusive Sega videos up on his account that I've never seen before.
I'm certain DR2 is coming, but if this is the actual trailer or announcement is another thing entirely. Reviewing everything I wouldn't write it off completely but it still stinks too much right now.

That stink, is exactly what viral marketing is about, it is meant to mislead and confuse so that people talk about it and spread it further.

Ding Chavez doesn't need doors.
