in the meantime, an engineer for san antonio has proposed a "superstreet" idea for 281 that would eliminate 3 intersections, be completed this year, and cost $7 million dollars, and save about $14 million a year for motorists and speed everything up, by making proper access roads to get to these intersection spots.
the city instead wants to go with a stalled proposal of $600 million for toll lanes on 281. or a $120 million venture for 3 overpasses at the intersections
the city manager also just called for all departments to cut budgets by 2%, after giving herself a $25,000 raise, and the mayor is trying to get $200,000 from the taxpayers to fund a 3 day seminar and send people to chicago for some bullshit that could be done in town and much cheaper. so dumb bitch makes a bunch of new openings in these departments, then calls for them to cut them out, and then the mayor is asking for $200k to fund a $43k a day seminar, while reducing police, fire department, and street repair services.
