What is a swamp cooler? It seems like the name contains within it the advice not to breathe stuff near it.

It sucks in hot air, passes that through a filter that's soaked in water, and then spits it back out as cool[er] air. Poor man's air conditioner.

I was moving it around and decided to clean up the debris beneath it. I forgot to put my shirt over my mouth before sweeping it into the dustpan. Big mistake.

It sounds like a brilliant invention that just requires a bit of care to use. Like a gun.

There is nothing worse than losing an argument to a person whose views run so counter to your own. Would letting air out of her tires be poor form because the idea sounds so good as I mumble it furiously to myself.

    Details?

I have no idea. I just go with the natives. Also it says I have made 7,192 posts here which seems quite outrageous to me.

Also I swear to god I scanned a page and all that came to me were the words "jesus on a slut's ass". That is an impressive juxtaposition of words if I can find it drunk at 2:30am and not paying attention. Or else I'm somewhat depraved.

So that PETA thread makes me ashamed to be a meat eater. What a bunch of apes. I guess people really don't like it when you suggest that maybe what they're doing isn't the most morally correct course of action.

I think that being willing to kill whatever it is that you eat is a good rule of thumb. I'm not suggesting that everyone should be made to do so, but I do think it's important to recognise that something died so that you could eat it.

I think, as a rule, people have become very insulated from the origins of their food.

I remember working in a supermarket that there were people who'd refuse to clean up blood that had leaked from meat packets. They just couldn't bring themselves to touch it.

It baffled me that those same people had no difficulty eating meat.
