When I thought of the bear idea I imagined the scarf just having a flat mouth on it, red on the inside with white teeth. Like Domo-kun but with a more bear-ish mouth.
And if you made that I would so totally buy it. That first one is super awesome but it's a little much and so detailed. It really looked like a lot of work.

the tentacles can be used as a scarf if it gets cold or windy...
also the tentacles make great earflaps... plus can be tied back
behind your head. and last but not least a
stash pocket on the inseam of one of the tentacles.

I love the octopus hat! I would buy it up right now if I had the money. I will probably not have the money until summer....and well, unfortunately then I won't need a hat in Texas. :-P....I may seek you out for an octopus hat next fall.
Oh man, that octopus is AMAZING. The little pocket and everything. It always takes me so long to knit, have no idea how you do these so fast and so well.
wow.... I used to know how to knit.. but I haven't done anything in like 10 years. However, this thread has inspired me... and I think I might need to start again.
PS: is it practical to knit a hat? Or is crocheting really the way to go... I used to do that too but it's been even longer...

I'll be damned. These hats are fucking outstanding. If I had any money at all, and I mean any, the first thing I would do is request a Buckwolfe hat. I'd have no idea how you'd make antlers though.
And antlers.... I saw my mom crochet antlers once... I have no idea how she did it... but she did ... so i know it can be done. I still have to figure out a elk hat and a moose hat..... pretty damn tricky if you ask me.
I'm trying to put together a Dueling Penis Epic Battle video..... but It's still a work in progress.... I'll keep you all posted.... believe me it'll be awesome.

Perfect for those emergencies when you're out cruisin' in your hat and you stumble upon a hat-less citizen! You hand him the second hat, and by golly you just made a lifelong friend.

I've been working on these things for a while and oh man
i really can't wait til they're done. But I was asked by a friend
of mine if I could make two thomas the train hats for his two boys at home.
I said sure... and then it turned into just one thomas the train and the other
one just a regular train. So far I got thomas done and i'm almost done with
the other train, i just have to make a few more pieces then sew the whole thing
together. I think the regular train actually has more parts then thomas..
but anyways...
If i was a little kid and i got this hat I think I would like it...
especailly if they like thomas the train right?
I like how it came out
he's a knit cap with crochet face, smoke stack and kaboose.
the eyes and wheels and little yellow and black do-dads
are all handmade buttons made of sculpty clay.
well i hope you like it...and hopefully a little boy will like it too!

crocheting is much faster and easier then knitting.
my favorite keeps changing from each one i make...
they get progressively more challenging.
