Okay so in lieu of a clever title, I figured I'd just make it clear what I'm talking about right off the bat.
This came out on Tuesday. And it's the best of the four DVD movies, easily. It's chock full of jokes! Action! Romance! Death! Miniature Golf! It's also possibly the last Futurama movie/episode ever. So did any of you other fuckers buy this, or was it just me?
The best of the four? I'd say it's about on par with Bender's Score... Beast with a Billion Backs and Bender's Game are still my favorite. I did buy it though.
Bender's Game was full of terrible nerd "jokes." The kind where they aren't even jokes as much as they are HEY DO YOU KNOW WHAT D&D IS HERE IS A REFERENCE TO IT and HEH YEAH OH US NERDS/GAMERS
True, which is just as bad as the constant episode referencing in Bender's Score. I could only watch that one once. Beast with a Billion Backs is the best of the four, in my opinion.
I freakin hated Beast With a Billion Backs. : [ However, I liked Bender's Score. And I REALLY liked Bender's Game. I'm glad the new one is out! Time to check it out.

Gotta say I haven't really enjoyed any of the movies as much as the worst episodes of the show they've ever made, but I'll watch this one and I'll keep watching future ones out of straight compulsion.

I'm not saying I don't like these, I rent every one but I find that it starts to feel like a joke marathon after awhile and the story wanders too much. Of course I always watch them stoned.
I think they would be better if they made them more like a movie with bigger dramatic moments and didn't worry about trying to make us laugh every five seconds.
Wild Green Yonder felt like it was finally able to overcome the issue that the other movies have had of trying to hard to be "old futurama", and instead it moved forward. It was completely willing to create new mythos, instead of just retreading old one, and it felt like watching an old new episode all over again.
