The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
The worst part is I just wandered in here after 2 hours of productivity to check other threads and saw the old chat thread locked at the top.
I thought fortune had smiled upon me, but alas, she is fickle.
Then again this is coming from the same people who have a thing against black jeans.
Which just mind boggling.
Black jeans are usually associated with trenchcoats, ponytails, fedoras, and wispy goatees.
A. Pony Tails ROCK.
B. I don't know where you live but here the majority of people don't wear trenchcoats with their black jeans.
C. Wearing navy with black is AWESOME so F U FASHION THREAD.
pony tails do not rock
you can certainly think they do
but i'm just gonna tell you that most people will disagree with you
what you are expressing with a pontyail is "i am a huge nerd who doesn't know/care that i look silly," and if you don't care to that extent then you shouldn't be wearing anything nonfunctional at all. everybody cares.
Most D&D fashion nazis maybe, but I've yet to see a study on worldwide opinions of ponytails so I'm not convinced they are as bad as you say they are.
Really, long hair is NOT a bad thing at least it's DIFFERENT but I know how you guys hate 'different'.
ponytails are a universal sign for nerddom, or otherwise poor aesthetics.
other people who have ponytails include gross bouncers, and no one's going to tell them they're doing it wrong.
ponytails aren't different. lots of people have ponytails. if you really wanted to make your hair different, you'd do something interesting with it - style it, dye it, cut it all off except for one sideways mohawk that fits into your friend's like a jigsaw puzzle and call it a brohawk - but no; you go with the ponytail, which is a symbol of your cultural aesthetic, as much as silk shirts with dragons on them or trenchcoats or ill-fitting metal band tshirts.
there is nothing essentially wrong with long hair or ponytails on men; but fashion and appearance is all contextual, and in this context they all say the same thing: i'm a big geek who isn't self aware.

Thanks for the tip, Laos. I shall check out the thread in that horrible forum, but only because it might help me get monies.
Thanatos and some others seem to know what they're talking about with respect to the Government and your monies. Good luck.
FAFSA shit is a whole 'nother ball game.
I know that, but he wasn't getting any attention in [Chat] and there seemed a collection of people who had a better chance of knowing over there than here.

You are a horrible person and your ideas are horrible as well.
So related to the trench discussion. I've been pleasantly surprised how few people in my philosophy class wear them, just the two out of the twenty or so of us. With video game and 'comedy' shirts of course. The rest rock the normal/intellectual look.

i don't necessarily even like the fact that it's true; this is my perception of the situation, and my explanation for my own reaction when i see a dude with a ponytail.
i speak as someone who dressed like a huge nerd for a long time, and was not self aware about my appearance in a way that was actually cogent with how others perceived me.

Yeah. Saying "ponytails make you look like a nerd" isn't a law of fashion wisdom woven into the fabric of the universe; it just happens to be the way things are in this time and this place. Clothes send signals. It boggles me how many people refuse to believe that, or idealistically think that that's not fair so they're just going to ignore it.

Oh I totally understand that I will be judged by my choice of dress. I WANT them to think I'm an antisocial geek because, well, I am.
Like I said, all that matters to me is my resume. I will dress nice for an interview. I will dress nice for an important event, otherwise, jean shorts, gamer t's, and crocs are fine with me. I don't even own a suit.

Still no news on whether the death penalty thing passed here in KS.

edit: Goodbye my chat thread. You were truly short-lived.

Was that a cruel jab at my thread title?

You have never said a truer thing than this

Sir Gooey, me calling you awful is like a bear calling a carrot furry.
It is dumb, strange and incorrect.
I make the awful things in these parts.
i love you

Just pick Adventures in Babysitting and be done with it.
