Clothed Female Superheroes

edited March 2009 in Help / Advice Forum
I need to dress my company's VPs as super heroes. I have no problem picking out costumes for the men, but I'm having a tough time with the single female VP in the group. It seems I can't think of a single female superhero that isn't dressed in scandaly clothes, or skin tight spandex.

Does anyone know of a super heroine that is fully clothed and... un-sexy? Is there even such a thing? I dunno, maybe one of you guys knows.

She may not be a super hero but she sure as hell is awesome.

Princess Zelda. If she's a superhero.

Um, I don't read comic books?

How recognizable does it have to be?

    Death, from Vertigo
Batgirl, who I think is in a wheelchair now, without a costume?
    Elizabeth Sherman, from Hellboy
Elsa Bloodstone, from Nextwave (I guess you would cover up the belly; boots, coat and gun would be the focus)
    Kim Possible?

Maybe you could just make something up?

EDIT: I think there was someone on the Justice League cartoon who was dressed like a gypsy. I'd bet she's probably called Gypsy, too.

Does the Bride from Kill Bill qualify as a superhero?-)

You could probably pull off a recognizable Elektra look with a suitably short red skirt, red top and head scarf without making it too revealing.

Also, Domino. She's all about the recognizable makeup and suitably badass-looking black clothing.

Some variations of Supergirl's outfit aren't too bad. Just lengthen the skirt and go a bit oldschool with it.

Though if I were you, I'd definitely go for Montoya The Question. This may be primarily due to the fact that I find The Question awesome, however.

Just go with Wonder Woman and use the stars and stripe skirt instead of bikini bottoms. Could also go with Supergirl. Batgirl has a full on costume and mask if you wanted to go that way too.

Just convince her to ditch work that day, perhaps? :P

This may or may not be a good idea in practice.

I'd imagine something simple and easy like one of the X-Men girls, Storm and Rogue can both be pretty distinctive just from the hair, or Catwoman, who only really needs black clothes and a pair of cat ears.

VP of company has me picturing middle aged and slightly overweight and I think you could pull those off pretty easily regardless.

You could pick an easily recognizable superheroine, like Supergirl with the big red/yellow S on her chest, and use your creative license to adjust the costume to make it work appropriate.

Storm and Rogue were both clothed for munch of the comic books. Rogue always wore a yellow and green costume with a leather jacket thing.

Storm was usually in a all white type Garb.

Or you could just say fuck it and dress em as vampirella.

I did Violet Parr for Halloween and instead of the black skivvies I went with a black skirt and it looked pretty good, that also made it a bit more modest.
