    Riff advances toward his fallen companion. Bringing his longsword down on the guard, whose attention seems to be fixed on the fallen fighter, his blade merely glances off the sturdy armour.
    Move: From C5 to C3
    Standard: Guiding Strike on Guard 2 (1d20+8 = 8 + 8 = 16 -> Miss)

    I'm saving my last majestic word in case things get really bad. No other guards can really come to us with #2 in the way here.. I'm assuming their movement is no higher than 5 with that platemail, and there is difficult terrain there.

    Basil holds his orb high in the air, which blazes with a brilliant blue flash. The waning sheet of ice crusts over again with slick frost. Holding his other hand up, fingers splayed, he lashes out with an arcing burst of blue energy, striking the guard in the doorway right in the chest and coating his armour with ice.
    Free: Activate Orb of Imposition to maintain Icy Terrain for an extra turn.

    Though slightly dazed from the halberd's powerful strike, Aelor shows no difficulty in standing himself back up. As he hops to his feet, a surge of strength sweeps his maul upwards towards the guard standing before him (22), crushing the guard's chest (Crushing Surge)(15). Feeling invigorated by this change in combat tempo, he taunts his victim with a wide smirk. (marks the guard)
    (He grants CA to the guard until the start of his next turn)

    Althal smirks "Good to see you pulling your weight again Aelor" he ads with a smirk as he searches for another weakpoint with his blade (riposte strike) however the armor on this guard seems much tougher, even with his keen elven senses he cannot seem to find a weak point in the armor (Double miss, 17, 17.) "The raven queen will claim you soon enough" he added with a glower, holding his position for the time being.

    Taking a short breath the guards standing in the door way rush in past the commotion. While the first gets slashed at by the Elf he manages to get inside and attack the vulnerable bard. The second guard isn't as lucky as both lAthal and Riff are ready for his entry and give him two well made strikes in the openings of the guard's armor before he can get safely inside. He manages to get revenge on the elf however stabbing at the dodging elf finally striking him in the shoulder.

    Alan sees the guard bowl Aelor to the ground and things go red. Shards of icy blackness and foul imprecations roll out of him, battering and shattering the guard, who is left whimpering and nearly broken, but still on his feet.

    Damn.
    Minor: Curse Guard 2 (1d6 extra damage to him when I hurt him)
    Standard: Eldritch Blast on Guard 2: Round 2, to hit guard 2. Eldritch Blast. (1d20+4=24) CRIT! 14 + Curse bonus damage. = 16 damage.
    Action Point: Dreadful Word on Guard 2: Action Point: Adding Fate of the Void bonus to to-hit roll. (1d20+5=21) Hit! 2d8+4=14 damage. Guard 2 takes a -4 Penalty to Will until end of my next turn, and is currently at 2 hp. But still alive. Damnation. Really thought I could kill that guy off.

    Riff quickly steps back behind the fallen fighter. In a fusion of arcane energy and good old fashion powerful lungs, the bard's shout pierces the mind of one of the guards, but he is unable to cause any lasting damage.

    Riff kneels down and mutters a few inspirational words to the fighter, who has once again found himself staring up at the ceiling.

    He steadies his nerves one last time and tries to cloud the guard's mind with magic. This time, his attack overcomes the man's willpower with confusion, causing him to stumble toward the bard in pain. In the moment of confusion, Althal seizes the opportunity to make a quick jab... but his fucking armour deflects it.
    Worst turn in the history of turns? Yeah..

    Move: Shift to B4
    Standard: Stirring Shout (Daily) on Guard 3 - MISS
    Minor: Majestic Word on Aelor, before he goes and dies. (12 HP healed plus 5 Temp HP)
    Action Point: Standard: Blunder (Enc) on Guard 3 - HIT! for 9 damage.
    Guard is slid to C4 as part of the attack, which provokes an OA from Althal (as per the spell's effect)... but that misses terribly.. even with a +10 bonus.

    Also, I think you mistakenly put Althal's temp HP on Aelor? I remember giving Althal 5 Temp HP with the heal, but I don't remember Aelor ever getting any.

    Then Aelor gets another 12 HP and 5 temp HP... not sure what his total is at right now cause I'm confused by the block.

    Those temp HP are from Aelor's Battlerage Vigor Class Feature

    That's what I was going to mark it, but I wasn't sure how temp HP added together... I think I read somewhere that they don't add up--you just take the higher number every time.

    Either way.. we need Basil to run some serious magical interference here.

    That daily should have turned the tide of this encounter, giving you all healing every time you attacked that guard. Instead... nothing.

    Ok, I take that back... I had enough time to roll. Go ahead and flavor the text as you will - if I have two guards I can hit with cleave, I'd like to cleave after standing up. If not, go ahead use the crushing surge. Damage for cleave is 15 +4 to secondary target, damage for crushing surge is 21 for the critical hit.

    Everyone who attacks Guard 3 and hits gains 5 HP.. this goes on for the rest of the encounter, so don't target him to kill him.. use him as a health pinata.

    Basil runs forward, his quick mind calculating angles and vectors as he begins to channel raw force through his body. Raising a hand in a quick flourish a blast of energy rushes from his hand with a thundercrack. Guard 5 is slammed by the force, being pushed back to hit the wall. Guard 3 weathers the blast, his heavy armour protecting him. Basil channels another blast with a surge of adrenaline and conjures the wave again but the guard digs in his heels, standing firm. His guard friend, however, weathers the full brunt of the force wave again, shattering his bones against the wall, a trickle of blood leaking from his slack mouth.

    Basil's concentration waning, the sheet of ice fades from existence.

    Basil spits a curse at the guard and whatever smith made his armour.
    Move: Move to F2
    Standard: Thunderwave starting on F3, crits Guard 5, misses Guard 3, dealing 10 damage.
    Action Point: Thunderwave starting on F3, hits Guard 5, misses Guard 3, dealing 6 damage.

    Human Guard 5(G5): 0/47 HP DEAD

    Goddamn it, I was hoping to push Guard 3 out the door. No such luck. I did manage to break every bone in Guard 5's body, though, so yay?

    Well, you would have missed Guard 3 anyway, he's now at C4.

    Sorry, lots of my powers involve sliding shit around... so you guys are gonna have to check carefully to see if anyone has been moved since the last map update.

    I'll try to make it more bold and coloured when I've changed the position of someone.

    The last guard still outside decides to rush in like his compatriots. He manages to dodge the attacks of Althal and Aelor as he moves past the guard standing just inside the door. He takes his position where the guard Dr. Bell had attacked once stood and strikes at the shifty elf getting his halberd in the elf's chest and sending him to the ground. Filled with confidence he yells; "Keep strong men! These law breakers will not survive long!"

    He may have spoke too soon as Aelor manages to get back to his feet and make a mighty swing with his maul against the two guards in front of him. He makes a strong strike at the guard Riff had suggested nearly knocking him off the railing while giving a small smirk at his renewed strength. He continues his swing to the guard in front of the doorway striking him squarely aganist his helmet and knocking him to the floor, dead.
    Guard 4
    Free: Drop Crossbow
    Minor: Draw Halberd
    Move: Attempt to move from Z3 to B1 provoking two OAs. Althal's(13 vs AC) Miss! Aelor(14 vs AC) Miss!
    Standard: Halberd on Athal. (20 vs AC) Hit for 12 Damage. Althal falls unconscious and is dying!
    Free: Shout.

    Aelor
    Move: Stand up
    Standard: Cleave on Guard 3, Secondary on Guard 2. (19 vs AC) Hit for 15 Damage! Guard 2 is hit for 4 Damage and dies! Aelor gains 5 HP thanks to Riff's Daily.
