Mad Men, the award winning drama on AMC about an early 1960's advertisement agency. It has received Emmys, it's wonderful, we love it! Video game time!
I'm wondering what the objective of this game would be. Let's go on a quest, receive ten extra points for office romance!
Of course, it's just a trademark, but it may come to fruition.
Just so people know if they haven't seen Mad Men, it is the best show on TV bar none.
As for making a game out of it, well they made a game out of the Godfather. A decent one at that. I suppose there is no IP that is off-limits given enough time and a large enough market.
If I can waggle the Wiimote to smoke and drink at work, and the A button is 'Womanize' then sign me up.
Hahaha, I suppose. I was thinking maybe a Sims type game, or one of the Tycoons. Make your own advertisement agency! Be sexist, smoke without knowing the consequences!

Be aware, I've only seen season one. But I'd pay for a game where you can play as Don Draper, Roger Sterling, or Joan Holloway. Gameplay consists of beating the shit out of Peter Campbell.
Why must the things we love always be adapted to media not suited for them?
I mean, I would love to see a game where the gameplay revolves around the subterfuge and social manipulation of Mad Men. I would love to see a game where you have to gain people's confidence and skillfully navigate a charade of friendship, where you have to deal with your haunting past while thinking of a way to sell merchandise to a population that doesn't need it.
I have no idea how this would work and such a thing would be a landmark in the history of gaming.
I am effectively certain that whoever heads this project up will be nowhere near as skilled a game designer as Matt Weiner is a dramatist. Which is sad indeed, because this is an opportunity to push the medium in a fantastic new direction.

It's all fun and games until someone gets a heart attack.
