You know how we all laughed at Geocities, and kept saying "man, they're still around? No one uses that anymore!" Well, according to Computerworld, Geocities is still the 196th most browsed domain. Um, holy shit.
Some admin got into work this morning and was all "hmm, was there something I was supposed to do yesterday?"
He didn't figure it out until after lunch, when his boss storms in and wants to know why the fuck those shitty old servers are still running and how the R&D department needs those racks out RIGHT FUCKING NOW so they can get their new development cluster in and start working on yahoo++.
So he busts his ass all afternoon to clear the crap out, tells the R&D department, and they're all "cool, we'll start moving in in a couple weeks."
Not that I have any experience with anything of that sort.
Wow that took some time, I remember reading about Geocities dying out a few months back.
I still have a backup of my anime website I used to have on tripod.
I wish I still had my SNES page though, it was 100% typed out HTML and it had a pretty rad design for it's time.

the funny part is that I read xkcd this morning and didn't even notice it until I saw this post.
Geocities, we always loved you.
Do they vibrate?

Also, why did he take it down after a day?
The Geocitified version is mirrored here.
(What's your postal address? I want to send you a manly man-hug.)
MIDI is still used quite heavily in the music industry. It will never go away.
And how proud I felt of myself when I found out that it added the code to your HTML base, right after your first body tag.
My solution?
