Finally, the moment when I regret ever buying the Runaways Vol. 2 Digests and wish I could purchase the hardcover.

Anyone pick up the Invincible Handbook? Does it reiterate information we already knew or contain new details about characters?

Really light week, but nothing really stands out to me this week besides the Hulk. Dr. Strange and Stan Lee should be decent, and I'm single-handedly responsible for SuperNova returning to 52, so I kind of have an obligation to buy that... the rest are mostly just there for fun and/or curiosity.

I read a lot of comics. A normal week would have another 10-20 titles or a few more trades thrown in there.

52 and Doctor Strange are fighting for best of the week of what I read so far. Hulk and X-Men really feel like I've been reading the same fucking issue for three months. Newuniversal shows an incredible amount of promise. Tranquility was okay. I'll give it another issue. Supergirl was cheesy fun. Superman Confidential was pretty good, but I'll wait for the next creative team on Batman Confidential.

Looking forward to reading JSA and Tec before bed.

Manhunter- I still can't believe this book doesn't sell as well as it should. The pacing felt a little off this issue, with too many pages devoted to a pointless fight between Manhunter and Wonder Woman, but it was still good. And Dylan Battles is still one of the best supporting characters in comics, even if he does have such a great amount of body hair that it rivals that of Wolverine or Maxwell Lord. The dialogue is spot on as always, and the art is just gorgeous. A really cool villain from the old Chase series makes a reappearance in this issue too. I'm still pissed at myself for only hopping onto this series just as it was about to be cancelled. A

Justice Society of America- A pretty cool book. It had an unusual amount of time dedicated to Mr. America, a character I know nothing about, but kind of looks like Floyd Lawton. I think Geoff Johns was just saving all the awesome he should have used on Infinite Crisis, and instead just put it all in here, because the writing impressed the hell out of me. Each character has a clearly different voice and feel, even with such a large cast, and the pacing was nice. The team is basically set by the end of the issue, unlike Justice League of America, which is taking its sweet ass time getting to the point. My only criticism is that Starman is basically Deadpool (or Ambush Bug). The character's still amusing and interesting, but it really seemed like Johns just took the standard non-sequitr wacky guy character and slapped it onto Starman. Dale Eaglesham art is, as always, fucking awesome. A- Oh, and on the last page, there was a little thing that showed panels from upcoming JSA stories, and in one of them, there was a guy saying, "I'll notify the League," with his back to the reader. Anyone else think he kind of looks like Booster Gold? If not, who the hell is that dude?

Ant-Man- Goddamn, Ant-Man is a dick. Kirkman and Hester continue to produce a great book with a real old school, Silver Age feel to it. Though I must admit, in the typical Silver Age story, the hero did not try to bang his dead best friend's girlfriend on top of his best friend's grave. Awesome. A

Such a good, though small, week.

That was my second guess Bad Karma. I couldn't remember that dude's name though. I sort of wondered why he seemed to be popping up all over the damn place in little one-panel cameos for the past year or so.

Still, I want it to be Buster Yellow.

i thought the last one, with the outsiders and fish people, was pretty terrible. the ones before it just seemed to lack any direction, which i guess the character does as well. how is #12?

Thats the whole problem with Supergirl. The book has no direction, yet at the same time, neither does the main character herself. What does that mean in my opinion? Not so good book. The only thing it has been about lately is Kara doing the "blah blah I just want to be a normal 16 year old girl blah blah." Which, apparently means hang out with the older "bad boy" (Boomer) and slutty outfits and bump uglies all night long at the local nightclubs.

I think at this point and time, after all the titles Supergirl has had, it's time to just relegate her to permanent sidekick cameo level, and keep her in the 31st century.

Issue 12 wasn't terrible, however, but it wasn't that great either. :^: :^: :^: for Amanda Conner pencils.

I love how #10 was all "Supergirl gets a secret identity!" and then at the end, Supergirl says "I don't want a secret identity!"

    Wait

Supergirl is supposed to be 16?

She looks like someone in her early twenties at the very least.

    This is bullshit.

Guys, I got home today and there was a surprise sitting in my mailbox: X-Factor #14! I checked the Diamond Comics shipping list and it's listed for next week. This is very strange, since, I almost always get my subscriptions a day or three late, and certainly never early. However, I'm not complaining, because the issue was great. :^: :^: :^:

Seriously, if you're not reading X-Factor by now, something is wrong with you. You hate good comics or something like that.

I guess I win this week. :D If it makes you feel any better, it's a great jump off issue for the new arc.

I noticed that no one has White Tiger on their lists. What is this foolishness? The first issue was sexcellent. I'm lucky to even get the second issue, since there's apparently only one copy left in town. Get on this one, people. :^:

Next time you go to the comic shop, pick up the Marvel Christmas Special. Its been out for a couple of weeks I think, and I thought it looked bad, so I didnt buy it, but I got it as a gift today - it's really good and a lot of fun. It has MODOF at the AIM Christmas party - good stuff.

    God dammit guys.

I forgot to pick up Detective Comics, yet somehow got Outsider, which is now just awful.

I really need to change my pull list around.
