I am going to be visiting my sister and her husband in San Jose, California for a month! In that time I will be visiting old friends and my former stomping grounds. However, it's been so long since I've been in the Bay Area I've pretty much forgotten what there is to do. So SE PLUS PLUS, I've come to you for help! What is there to do in the bay area? Any concerts or festivals going down that should know about? Museums, Parks, other places of interest?
Key Points:
I'll be in California from May 27th to June 23rd.
Staying with my sister and brother-in-law "near downtown San Jose."
My Brother-In-Law and I are planning on going to the Monterrey Bay Sea Aquarium and to the Six Flags in Vallejo.
I am going to be finalizing a schedule with my sister and brother-in-law when I get to California.
Should we meet up somewhere? I wouldn't even know how to get that organized and rolling. I guess I can post what I am going to do and when, then I'll see if I can get some of you to meet up with us.
Go to Santa Cruz; but not on the weekend. The boardwalk is old-timey fun and there's a couple of good beaches.
Go to see the redwoods! If you can't go far north to the really big ones, I think probably the Santa Cruz Big Basin park is my favourite of the near-by redwood parks.

Santa Cruz is full of college burnouts. I know this as fact. Some friends from highschool went to college there.
San Jose I don't remember much there being to since I was a kid and never went outside. But go around the bay, go to SF. Maybe you can meet the guy at the piers who is dressed in a dalmation suit.
San Jose is full of ethnic restaurants. In fact thats what the city is know for is its eateries. SF has all the night life however. Eat in San Jose and party in SF.
Thanks for the help everyone! I remember doing a lot of this stuff as a kid and having a blast, I'll be sure to check out as much as I can! Oh! I also just remembered a bunch of other stuff; The Exploratorium, The San Francisco Art Museum, are there any good historical museums in the Bay Area?
I don't think I am tall enough to be Goofy.
I don't think you're goofy enough to be tall. So...
Also, I too will be going to Cal-i-for-nee. Though next year, and I will be driving. (To see the country) My sisters boyfriend will be staying out there when he goes to college and said I could visit.
I'm not planning on coming back.
Not that I won't. I'm just not planning on it.
Yes I know I'm bumping a thread and the OP has already left. What? California doesn't have internet? I heard they had some.

It gets pretty crowded, though.
