    I really, really want to preorder NS2, but I'm worried that the preorder won't work with steam and that a steam version will appear at a later date and the majority of the NS2 community will be on steam and I won't be able to play on their servers.

    What? The game will use the same servers regardless. Steam would just be a digital distribution platform, not the actual matchmaking.

    It provides no such service. It has support for servers and that's it. You're confusing it with the L4D matchmaking.

    I've never played L4D on Steam. This is good to hear though. NS2 is so bought. I couldn't care less about steam achievements.

    lol Are you new to Steam, Taranis? Yeah, there is no matchmaker of any kind, save for L4D. L4D is kind of the odd child in a lot of ways though. I assume that NS2 will be like 99% of other Steam multiplayer games, like NS1 is; open up the server browser, find a server of your choosing.

    Bump from the bottomless depths of hell!

    NS2 Alpha release date is 7/26! In celebration, I setup a server again. This time it's public!

    SERVER IP: 69.61.21.18:27016

    I just set it up so let me know if it's laggy or crap. I have a HL2:DM server running too so I might kill that if this is too CPU intensive.

    Well I hopped in and tested it and stuff seems to be working okay. Nobody was around to test though so I can't promise it will hold up the test of time.

    Still working on re-uploading admin mod and bots and other fun goodies too.
