The Final Fantasy XIV thread is getting a bit over-saturated with all of the Lord of the Rings Online talk, so I made a separate thread for us faggots who are playing this game, and for those that got suckered into playing it with us.

Seriously, though, Lord of the Rings Online is very similar to other MMOs out there right now, mainly World of Warcraft. Where it differs, however, is the rich setting of Middle-Earth that the game takes place in, well-written storyline and normal menial quests, and the game is fucking gorgeous. Here are a few screenshots shamelessly stolen from Fandyien (and some other random people) detailing some of the game:

Classes
Guardian - Your typical tank. Wears the heaviest armor, and soaks up damage. Surprisingly a decent amount of DPS, too.
Captain - An interesting support class. Can also wear plate armor, and has a minion to control, which adds beneficial bonuses to the captain and her party. Personally one of my favorite classes.
Champion - Melee DPS. Can also wear plate armor. Specializes in AOE damage. Play this if you've been dying to pretend you're some white boy Drizzt Do'Urden.
Hunter - Total nuker class. Wears leather armor, but can also survive a close quarter fight. Best single-target DPS in the game.
Burglar - Debuffer and crowd control class. Deals a hefty amount of damage, as well, though is still outshined by the champion and hunter.
Loremaster - Crowd control class. Wears cloth armor. I don't know much about them. You get a bear, though!
Minstrel - The main healer of Lord of the Rings Online. Heals your morale by... playing an instrument during battle. Can also play all instruments in the game.
Warden - Faggots with spears, or something. I don't know much about them, other than that they wear medium armor, make good off-tanks, as they deal more DPS than a Guardian, but soak up less.
Rune Keeper - RUUUUUUUUUUNES
