[DND 4E]Recruitment: Keep on the Shadowfell
Posts
Ba'dhin is in the midst of a bit of identify crisis. She always thought of herself as becoming the most dedicated and favored of her tribe in the eyes of Corellon, and was even given the opportunity to leave her forest home to extol the virtues of her goddess by her shining example to the world.
She quickly found not everyone appreciates the beauty of the world as she sees it and is now faced with the fact her adventure will be as much a path to her own enlightenment as a spreading of her goddesses wisdom to the world. She is anxious to show the world the true meaning of beauty, whether that be the view from the topmost branches of a tree as the sun rises, or the glory of the kill after stalking a fearsome beast through the shadows and having the goddess guide your hand sure and strong.

I need me to get me a d20 hit real soon now. :-)
This would be my first PbP and I've been dying to try it out. I'll have the characters filled out by Friday 900p servertime. Right now, I need to goto bed and pull through work in the morning.
I'd be willing to play as:
Khross the Human Warlord ,
Vic the Human Storm Sorceror (dont know Vic's full name yet).
I used the character builder to do the number crunching then transfered them to myth-weavers so they should be legal.
-NB
*edit* eh... I cant think of anything for Vic without him turning into some bastardization of Cole from Infamous. Khross is my entry.

I'm looking forward to trying the PbP format. I'm about to move out of state and had given up on getting a game together to try out 4e. Then I get a call from a guy who found my number on the local gaming store bulletin board and tells me he's going to start up a game. I was so sad when I had to tell him I'll be moving at the end of the month.

Lookin for a heavy hitter? Look no further for:
Threasher the Dragonborn barbarian
"An egg has been found elder. It seems too large to be that of the local wildlife...something more dwells inside..."
Born into a human village in the desert, Threasher received his name from the village elder. A tradition common within the community. The elder gave him this name not only for his obvious physical attributes, but also for what he kept inside of him; a personality that would always clash against his upbringing...A sense of being an outsider in a village he called his own.
When he turned 15 he was placed on guard of the village, a right bestowed to him earlier than his "friends" in the village. I saw "friends" because there lacks a softer word, perhaps acquaintances would be more precise. He was valiant and courageous, much like that of others of his kind, but also showed the restraint of a disciplined guard. Still, this was not his walk of life.
As he grew, so did his isolation. He became increasingly silent, yet more and more brutal. The only sounds from him came on the battlefield, when warring over resources with neighboring settlements. With him in tow, his village became wealthy in water as well as land. But he was treated like a tamed wolf, chained and distrusted.
Behind the village's back the other nations grew jealous of it's wealth and banded together. There was an attack on the village Threasher picked up his Greataxe and flew into the fray. A roar ripped through the battlements as he tossed foes asunder. His ax as thirsty for blood as his enemies for water. But even he fell as the full force of the desert was thrown upon him. He was conquered and thrown to the wilderness to survive and to find himself again...
AND THAT'S WHERE YOU COME IN!
I'll be e-mailing the PDF soon
Hope to hear back *wink

Backstory:
Nala had been a student of battle all her life. As a child, she played at war games. As a teenager, she started to read books; How successful generals could overcome huge odds to win a battle, how positioning and coordination could turn the tide in a battle, or spare the lives of your troops even in a rout. She was entranced by the strategy of war, and longed to practice it herself. And so, when she became old enough (or at least old enough to appear old enough), she enlisted in the local army and tried to gain real experience in battle, applying her learning on the battlefield and honing her abilities.
For a while, she was assigned to a fantastic Sergeant, a human named Marvolo, who taught her all sorts of things about REAL fighting. How to survive, how to position yourself to inflict maxinum damage while not opening yourself up to the enemy- All the things, in short, she had joined the army to learn. And then Marvolo died in battle one day, and Nala blamed herself for his death- If only she had been able to get to his side in time to save him!
After that, things went downhill. The Sergeant's replacement was a horrible man who thought battle started with "CHARGE" and consisted of everyone hitting the enemy until one side fell. During their first encounter together, Nala attempted to fight her way- inspiring her allies, moving the enemy into disadvantageous positions... But the new Sergent saw this as cowardly, saying after the battle that she was strong, and should therefore be hacking away at their enemies rather than flitting around yelling at people. She was discharged as a coward because of this idiot, and now wanders far from her home, low on funds and looking to make a name for herself with people who would appreciate her talents, and work with her to defeat her enemies to bring glory and wealth to them all.
Excitement
If you don't have a background by the time I read it, there's a really good chance you won't get in. So you should probably go ahead and throw that in asap.
