I just talked to the Credit Union that was handling my car loan, and had them transfer the final payment to pay it off. I am the proud full owner of a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder.
Now, about $4000 left on a line of credit to pay off, and I'll be 100% debt free by 25.
Tell me, SE++, how is your financial situation this month?
Makin' minimum wage, working full-time. But, since I'm living in a college town my rent is bupkis, so I'm saving enough that I won't have to work next semester.
I sold my car years ago because being dead at the time I had little use for it
I had little use for it when I was a zombie
Now I semi-regret selling it because begging for rides sucks

Moving in to a new place (was suppose to have the keys today but the current tenants decided to not have the place cleaned as in the lease agreement) so I'm having to pay for storage until the 1st...
Gotta drop $750 for security on my new apartment, gotta set up internet and cable, already bought some new furniture on craigslist on the cheap, and about $1,200 in credit card debt.
Not too bad.

Congrats, son. I bought a new car in March and my dad was able to sell my old one through the classifieds.

Ass, Cash, or Grass, nobody rides for BRAAAAAAAAAAAINS
I am 20 and my parents are thinking about getting me a new ride for my 21st if I can provide the down payment. I have no idea what to expect here. I'm looking at getting an '09 Honda Fit. Is $1500 accurate-ish?

I got a leather couch at an estate furniture shop for $350. Buying used furnishings is totally the way to go.
Nice. I snagged a pair of Ikea loveseats (retail for $299 apiece) and slipcovers for'em for $200, and might buy the coffee table that the person is selling as well if I like it.
I currently owe about £110,000 jointly with the fiancee for our mortgage and just under £7,000 to the greedy money-grubbing bastards at the Student Loan's Company.
Otherwise I'm responsible with money and always pay the credit card off in full.

The one about the fucking space hairdresser and the cowboy. He's got a tinfoil pal and a pedal bin
Everyone who gets a car from their parents should burn in the fires of Hades.
I got a firm handshake when I turned 21. Well, and a game of some sort, I can't remember what.
The car I inherited from my mom cost me more to maintain than buying my own cheaper to own wheels.
That Caddy was awfully pretty back in its day though.
I'm referring more to people whose parents buy them a brand new car when they turn whatever age.
My last girlfriend had a car that her parents bought her, and always seemed shocked when I mentioned I didn't have a car. I suppose I could buy something cheap, but I live within walking distance of work, groceries and my favourite pub. Vehicles aren't entirely necessary for me.

I'm in the same boat. Just, dollars. Not space-money.
I'll probably be looking for a car in the next couple months; I'm gonna wait till I get settled first and take care of any essential household stuff, then start hunting.

It's proving to be challenging, although I have cut down on both my entertainment and alcohol expenditures.

That or outlets for good furniture sellers. Got a pair of italian leather chairs from a Macy's outlet for about $500.

it's served me much better than a car that i can't afford to maintain and don't like to drive
