XtremeHardStyleDelz- Fufufu thanks for all the 3D links I hope to make you proud papa with the 3D work I'm gonna do.
Mully the Bully- No problem I use it for allll my quickie concept work. It's handy as hell and everyone should know about it. I just wish they had an Undo, Presuure Sensitivity and Layers then I can die happy.
The magical Glen of Scos- Thanks broski! I have done a bajirrion trees I can do them in my sleep. I'm working on a Treehouse Boardgame, A comic placed in a forest, A vidya background of petrified looking trees I get to animate wiggling around. And everyone wants me to draw trees when I collab with them. I cannot escape trees.
Which to me look like weird growths with veins everywhere.
The Heart that Lashes back- I barely sleep but nah a lot of my concept work is just based on good ole rule of thumb concepting. I'm going to do a long tutorial on it when I acquire this one book to complete my bookshelf and with all my gathered information hopefully give a good insight on good character design. It's easy! But the biggest thing is having fun.
A cooler death then some. COOL RANCH DORITO GET IT? HAAAAAAAA shoot me please.-
I have totally forgot what Lion King was about besides awesome time villians.
Father of God Kings- By line sensitivity is thanks to this guy in the middle-
Yes that is a spring in the nib. but it just adds to the pressure sensitivity and anything that can get the feeling of more traditional work I'm all for.
I don't know if you've used Sketchbook Pro but it also has a mirror function that works real time and has layers and undo. Also has adjustable oval template for word balloons.
yo ikage i was thinking about your creativity and how you are always making up new cool and original stuff, but it feels kinda fragmented.
What i mean is like, try to challenge yourself and make a whole cohesive world, excercise your creativity so you reach new heights in awsomness. Like, make a setting like in dungeons and dragons or blazblue, some fucked up japanese stuff. Creativity is a skill and i think you would be extra-amazing if you worked it hard.
Does that make sense? Or are you alredy doing that lol
THIS IS AN AMAZING! Thank you! You can have the first born child I will never have as rewards
Delicious With Deathage Dorito- Actually hahaha I do. it might just look disjointed since I don't really draw any environments for these guys so its like well this is a nice Mirror Beast floating in a white void. Yes indeedy!
I have about 3-4 working-The tree collab is one with my best friend, where people live on creatures the size of continents and the worlds covered in water and this boy is trying to crack the secret between the beasts and why there is no land except them.
The ones with swirls are apart of a big project I'm doing a world I been working, revising and cleaning though for years. I even made several myths I'm going to release as one-shot comics whenever I find a plateu in my life to work on my stuff for years.
They may seem disjointed, but I'm exploring these places piece by piece with each piece of concept work I do. Actually people try and suggest to me of breaking out of the swirl world more and do some other concept work but I don't waaaaaanntt to.
Tam always getting the bitches because he's the Man- Ahaha oh god that wasn't even good. Shame upon shames.
Yogurt with 75% more Awesome bits- Awwhhrr!! They are so cute I want one for Christmas! This one reminds me of the pirahna plants from Super Mario.
Also ahh man I wish I could show the work for the Secret Santa I'm doing. I'm pulling out the stops this year.
Yay ! Carl Dobsky is a great speech giver and he knows how to make craaazzzzyyy mathematical science into just crazy art magic.
Carl Dobsky changed my life! Thanks to him I can make perspective grids like nobodies business!
WHICH I USE TO SAVE CHILDREN AND LITTLE ANIMALS. Sometimes.
EDIT:
2.5 hour color study pratice. Hurfff derruugg 2.5 hour color study BACK TO WORK. With color studies I'm painting in about 80%-100% opacity. guessing the color that the original picture im studying from is. NO eyedropping unless I fail after 10 guesses of the color. I'm trying to learn to know color when I see it, not cheat.
It helped alot when my mom made note their from the same hue family but, kind of too late since I was at 2 hours into it already.
where are you getting his perspective info? Im intrigued, but I have such an aversion to it, I almost prefer just doing it the retarded way of eyeballing till it feels right. I still really want to check it out though.

I was more or less mindblown because then the horizon line is always going to be straight no matter what I do or what crazy perspective I want to take it.
Let me convince you! ( actually the guy trying to find the vanishing point cracks me up everytime. ) Also el oh el Muggs cellphone. This books a little aged.
horizon line confuses lots of people
you should have seen the work that came out of my drawing class the week we did perspective
dear LORD
most of the work that comes out of that class is terrible really
but the excuses are incredible
here's a real conversation from my class:
teacher: "look at the negative space, it's hard sometimes, but focus on the negative space and everything else will fall into place"
student: "oh i did look at it, i have been paying attention to it"
teacher: "oh yeah? why didn't you draw it the way you see it then?"
student: "I don't like drawing the negative space, I prefer to work with the mass of the positives"
teacher: "Uh-huh... try to work with the negative space as well, what you're seeing is a scene, it's an organization of things, not just the figure, you need to put it all together, sometimes it's hard to see it that way, I know I have to really think about it sometimes"
student: "really? i see it right away"
teacher: "yyyyeah... okay then draw it"
same guy told us all he's a perspective expert.
rolled my eyes so much that day
when the teacher went "hey student, you know about perspective, tell us about 3 point!" he was like "uh... um, i've... i don't know"
score one, awesome teacher
score -10000000 terrible student
i kind of like it, it's so methodical
i like how the lines all converge at that point no matter how much you try to convince yourself that they don't
it's like seeing a neat magic trick
Honestly it's my favorite thing I like doing in my sketchbook, and the only real time I have to practice perspective
Which is a real crock of shit considering that both the concept art and sequential arts kids get an extended class on the subject, but not us animation scrubs :x
All these horror stories about college really. Oh god.
And when your driving it's the best or just walking around. After doing so many grids your breaking up everything you see into something you can draw and picking your obvious converging lines. So not only is it a crazy magic trick. It's one that your STUCK with.
Talking to a buddy but went afk on with loom on IM telling me he'd show me a neat trick for drawing eyes. I showed him mine first. Put horns through everything and will never never need to worry about it. Doodled this while I was on the phone with my buddy. Drawn in Sketchbook Pro thanks Guy Bell!
This is some terrible burne hogarth but enjoy it anyways. I am so sad I cannot spend as much time on warmups these days. But get to do like 20 composition roughs for work tonight so not so much yaaaaaaaaay.
Also you guys are hilarioussss
Also I got commissioned to do a Hexadragon, I can't wait to crack into this. People pay me to draw weird things.
Also I love how my bosses think I'm a graphic designer.
Because I essentially have to design this whole board game thing font and all.
I am so glad I have two sisters in graphic design or I would be dead. ( this is my bosses layout i have no choice but tailor to this :C)
And soon environments for the 2-d fighter im on board for! though Im glad Skullgirls decided to go high def with their animations.
This is a truth. I am of female gender, but I don't like mentioning it because I have gotten many creeps in my internet life. And recently got a really fun one.

Bah, I wouldn't put too much thought into that. Most people are just plain creepy in general, regardless of situation or circumstance.
I make it a point to be completely upfront with just how creepy, perverted, and asinine I really am.
Just don't be stupid honest with a girl and tell them you fantasize about them when their talking to you.
This one guy did to me. I was talking to him a firm year and turning down him down at every chance. And he got pretty desperate until I blocked him. Like for one, wanted to pay for normal full body photos of me, for " reference". Afjsaksfflerrh, I told him to go to life drawing classes, he said he couldn't afford it. Affakldslffffggjerrr. And always complained about money problems, yet he wanted to take me out someplace "nice".
I joke around pervertedly with the best of them, but for the most part I'm pretty asexual at this point and want to concentrate on my work.

Damn.
I might be weird, and an asshole, but at least I'm not that desperate and tactless. You'd think people would have enough common sense to know how to talk to others without creeping them the fuck out. Joking and having a laugh is one thing, but that guy just sounds sad, and damaged.
EDIT: Shit. I feel like I'm derailing your thread now.
I find squinting to be useful for separating the light and dark masses, not so much for core shadows. I think those are easier to see without squinting.

thanks for telling us about it!
I like all of this..
The tree is gorgeous.
You have stolen my heart Ikage.

It isn't until your fiftieth drawing where something clicks in your brain and then you want to do it as much as you can.
