shaving daily lolol yeahright. And getting ready in the morning. Pffft. God though, I mean, female bodies are great and all but male bodies have such interesting angles and shapes and structures. You'll do fine in lifedrawing, don't freak out about it, just think of it as an abstract shape. Also, the best part of these studies of yours are the faces you add to them and the sidenotes lolol they're making me giggle at 5am. Because really, writing that shit down is just going to help you remember it.

Yeah, I ganked tickets from my comicbookstoreguy as a professional. It's just the uh flight that's expensive. And the -buying everything-.

hah, you make me lol with mens bodies being beutiful.

Women have something wrong with their heads, since obviously men are the most disgusting things in the world :D.

So does copying a whole book help really? I might try that.....

Well it would help if boys didn't have COOTIES!!!

They are just get scared of being hurt by men. Admiration blinds you, and you end up doing a lot of stupid things for the one you love. The good women at least. But that goes for men, I've seen a lot of my best bros cheated or fucked with by women.
The bad bitches just like hurting men, those are the ones to watch out for. I'd never trust an overly flirty chick no matter how much delicious tittage is hanging out.

Actually copying it word for word with the diagrams helps the most. Right now I'm copying Bridgman to get a feel of how he accomplished mass.
Seems he likes to keep his pencil strokes as minimal as possible which is interesting but he likes a good mix angular/sharp curves. I'm not only copying the diagrams I'm trying to get a feel for how he drew them and what went through his hand when he was doing it.

Copying the words is like doing schoolwork. If you read it you'll forget it the next second. But if you write the shit down you'll be ready for any old test.

Your right about that though, guys have so much more shit going on then a spongy chick. And they have so much more variation in body types, especially old men. I adore drawing older men. They can sport such amazing beards at times.

    The beards of beard kings.

I am lucky and know a few bros in San Diego so I can usually bum someplace for a week. If not I'd probably just sleep in my car and if I start smelling like goat. Then go wash myself off at a faucet they have at the beaches. They are some cheap places to eat in San Diego like Alberto's which serves amazing burritos that are so big they take me two days to eat. For like 5 bucks.

But I'll have to keep that in mind my first time at life drawing. And sadly I have a stupid sense of humor that leaks into a lot of the things I do. But I second the writing of things down it is so much more helpful.

yeah when i went to life drawing there was an absolute milf standing naked in front of me and i was not aroused in the slightest, its like she wasnt a woman to me anymore, just a object to draw....

Its very strange if your used to seeing naked people for fun, and then drawing them for a different kind of fun.

    Terrible but true!

Okay I think when it concerns this stuff people give alot of freedom to be creative. Bridgman draws like little sticks for incomplete arms ( i think he was just suggesting form with just a line but i see hooks and peg legs.)

There like earlier in the thread but those are pencil sketches from when I was 18-19. I'm like 24 now.

I lost my portfolio on a trolley along with whatever survived from my move and my recent pencils. My pencils are nothing special compared to anyone else's besides the crosshatching I do. Which tries to imitate Gustave Dore's engravings. When I was younger I thought he was just an amazing pencil artist so I did everything I could to mimic his style. So instead of shading and smudging like other artists, I pile thousands of little lines over thousands of other little lines so it's just this picture on a napkin sized piece of paper tightly compacted.

    kay-1.gif
I can hyper detail without a magnifying glass because my nearsighted vision is really bad. I can see lincoln on a penny and read the states on the whitehouse on money. It's only edge I really have, and pretty useless since I see peoples faces as BLOBS without my glasses. I can't even see my computer screen without them anymore.

So I'll add a bunch of crosshatching, ease up some of the lines with an eraser. Add more crosshatching and repeat this process for hours. With a 0.2-0.3 mm pencil. It just takes forever and I don't have a scanner so I don't bother doing it anymore. But usually all of my works have a bit of crosshatching in them since it's just how I've always worked.

Only later did I learn that style was not based on what I thought it was. But I still like trying to imitate that heavy etching style when I can. It's just hard to do it digitally, the only program I found that is close is Paintchat to give that range of pressure I need. But it's set to 72 DPI.

    More Bridgman!

Okay so...I have to take my sisters bed apart and toss it since they jumped on it like moneys and broke it.
But guess what I don't have a star head screwdriver. My family is amazingly retarded sometimes. But there all girls so eh'.

    iamthemacguyveroftheghetto.gif
    SO I MADE ONE~!!

    And...I got...two screws out.
Also I don't understand how we have drill bits BUT NOT A DRILL.

So I have to buy/or bug a total stranger for a screwdriver.

Also I jerryrig shit together all the time. My glasses are usually being held together by string, the ittle bits of wire that you find in bread loaf seal wrappers and even for awhile fishing line. I am very cheap but very resourceful.

one of the things about bridgman that influenced me pretty heavily was a tendency for heads to go a little smaller making everyone look like giants.. Just something to be aware of.

Futore- Too bad I only find about the cool things too late.

Cakes- I will fight you in any game. IT'S ON!

Kendeathwalker- B-but smaller heads mean I don't have to worry about so much FACE.
But ahh thank you I'll keep it in mind. I'm probably going to do a Dynamic(insert whatever here) book then the book I got on Chiaroscuro while I'm waiting on a few books from Amazon.

Loom- Me neither, but it's like Tic Tac Toe/Tetris bastard child. Not a hard game unless your playing against me ohohoho~

NightDragon- Man who needs conventional items specifically made for purposes. Why cramming things together that are not normally used for such a purpose is 10 times more fun!

    It's like I'm a kid again.

Kazaka- I just kind of copied Bridgman so give him the kudos! A card probably would be nice.

I think I will send him one myself.

And too bad you spoiled that for me, I would have been so surprised when that happened. Now I know to expect it.

Broke into The Artist Complete Guide to Drawing the Head by Willian L. Maughan.
I got some errands to run(I think my leg has drained enough clear yellow pus for today so I can walk. I got bit by something and it swelled my leg, ankle and foot and burns like the dickens. Yay for aspirin! But it's just been leaking alll night.) but I'll probably edit this post with some more studies before I do my work tonight and re-watch Gnomons Pratical Light and Color and Mechanics of Color DVD's again.

Cakes- I had fun just trying to mimic the style digitally haha. But they will plenty more of these. I wish I had a better scanner or I would just do these traditionally and save me a headache.

Futore- COPY TOME-GAIN EXP. LEVEL UP!
Which is honestly running through my mind. Like one page is 1 exp. I'm going to keep a tally count or something.

Tam- Hahaha whaaatttttt. Honestly I could just scan the books ( which might be more helpful IDK??) for people to copy as well.

Bomb- I have tons of Ref and places with Ref ( chinese websites are a goldmine). I just have noooo place to put it.

    I second this.
And they are SOOOOO cheap on Amazon.
But there's a few things like Ken said about Bridges which he is prevalent in small heads.
But as Loom informed me he is not so great for rhythm( the one book im copying it's like the same pose 20 times over. Sometimes I'll draw a pose 3 times but theirs just this ONE pose I been drawing 20 times over he favored). But good at understanding how the shapes stack up on each other to make a more humanoidish shape. But for more solid understanding anatomy study other books in conjunction with bridgmans.

I think the thing I appreciate the most out of your work is your Bruce Lee work ethic.

It's far too late over here for me to go over it into detail, but the simple ability to just sit down and work...........really work...........is not something that many have mastered. In fact it is quite difficult!

I'll explain my ramblings later during the week.
