I just can't believe Federar is pulling off so many aces, even this late in the game.

changing bibliographic systems is a pain in the arse. Half the stuff I need to put in this proposal is in one style, the other in another. Fiddly and annoying is the name of the game.

The point at which you can start calling the UK "The UK" is a subject of some debate.
I would go with one of the points when it united. Probably the unification of England and Scotland?

    Whee, chat-necro.

There are several of those. There are times when they've both been conquered by the same foreign power, times when they've both been ruled by the same domestic ruler through conquest, times when Scottish Kings have inherited the English throne, English Kings have inherited the Scottish throne, The Union of Crowns, The Treaty of Union, The Act of Union, and the Union of Parliaments (and their subsequent devolution to seperate parliaments again). There are also various uprisings, rebellions and coups d'etat of varying degrees of legitimacy. You also need to define what degree of unification makes them the same country. Scotland and England still have distinct legal systems, for example.

Then you can add in similar problems involving Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland and The Channel Islands.

EDIT: I am being semi-sarcastic, here. Most people go with the 1 May 1707, which is after the Treaty of Union and the ratification of an Act of Union by each Parliament. Like anything, however, try to pin it down and twenty people will disagree.

So, the wife of the head of MI6 posted pictures of their family and details of where they live on facebook and didn't enable any of the privacy settings.

I'm surprised anyone related to senior intelligence figures would go anywhere near facebook.

It's not him though, it's his wife. I would hope that the head of our foreign intelligence service has at least a passable understanding of how the internet works.

Hehe so looking at the last email my prof sent out regarding last minute stuff about the field school, I looked at the recieving list to double check how big the group is and yep, about a dozen of us with me being the only guy. Fun times.

Also he sent us two articles, one being kind of big, hell if I am reading that all today, owell I can read most of it on the plane I guess.
