You try writing for the New York Daily News and then say Mauer is worthy of the MVP for a month
They're trying to move him. The thing is, nobody's going to take him without the Cubs either taking on some of his salary. Or if the other team can dump a player in a similar situation (biggish contract, underperforming player) on the Cubs in a trade.
Natinals pick up NYY reliever Brian Bruney for a PTBNL and sign IVAN RODRIGUEZ for reportedly $6 mil over two years.
Pudge started playing in the majors when I was 11, and was basically my favorite player for years (I was catching at the time in little league). I'm excited to finally see him play. He'll probably serve as a backup/mentor for Jesus Flores (who looks to be healthy again in time for the spring). Boras, his agent, is talking like Rodriguez will get significant playing time, but I'm hoping it doesn't become Paul Lo Duca 2.0.
Bruney could fill any slot in our bullpen, but wants to find a place as a closer. If he does close, I figure it will be on a temporary basis until Drew Storen makes it up to the bigs.
Either way, Team Rizzo has said that the focus of the Winter Meetings is pitching, so here's hoping we get something good to back up the eventual rise of Strasburg.
the only smart part of that deal is milton bradley going to a team with virtually no press coverage and a fanbase that isn't really at the point where they're going to scream obscenities at their own team
and if they cubs just trade straight up for burrell, then it happens anyways
I'm not sure why the mets are being mentioned in this at all

No one will give a shit
which brings back me saying we should have never traded him away in the first place
So that's a thing.
the cubs couldn't really afford him anyways, but still
And even then, the money's probably not there.
not sure if I could handle a mauer-less twins team
apparently the end of spring training is the deadline for him
If they don't re-sign him, they'll become the stupidest front office ever
and I'd like to see Pavano brought back for another year
or were they just legs to a baseless rumor
As a Tigers fan this made me really excited for about two seconds, until I realized that we don't actually get anything at all from this.
there are a lot of rumors going around
people are fighting hard to dump their shitty contracts on the cubs, I guess
I'll take Zombrono off your hands if you think he's too much of a trouble maker
also I love carlos zambrano and I want him to stay in chicago forever but if he went to the yankees it would be hilarious
I have no idea how the new york media would deal with him
zambrano will go out of his way to piss them off if they start bugging him or giving him shit
a-rod kind of tries to avoid stuff
He sure as fuck doesn't
he still does dumb things but he's not saying that the yankees should "just trade me if they hate me so much" for example
And in New York we have had our share of players that hated the Media

And to the Yankees. Fuck.
Anyway, I wasn't planning on posting about that trade until it was official.
So...
or a one for one deal instead
this offseason kind of sucks
and if they cubs just trade straight up for burrell, then it happens anyways
