Neil Gaiman, that guy

On the 21st of this month, Neil Gaiman is going to be the celebrity guest at the stage theater I usher at. We normally put on a play and do an improv show fridays and saturdays, but for two awesome days we'll be present a 'celebrity tarot lounge', which is also awesome.

On the 20th we'll have Teller (who is too, awesome) and then Carrot Top (not so awesome) come in for a tarot reading, but the next day, Neil Gaiman is coming in, and I'm pretty excited. I'm hoping for a handshake. Maybe an autograph or picture or something if I'm lucky. Maybe a few words if I'm luckier. I'm a fan of dude's work, and so is my coworker, so we're both pretty stoked.

Meeting famous people is rad, I guess. Even more rad if they're cool dudes.

I read that one book he did with that dude who's dead, about the son of Satan, it was pretty cool, I think?

you should ask him if he hoped to inspire teenage girls to wear elbow-length black fishnet gloves and a lot of eyeliner when he got into writing or if that just kinda happened

Not only does he write cool books, but then his cool books/stories get made into cool films

Stardust and Coraline are two of my favourite films

I've never actually read Sandman in it's entirety. I love his short story work though. Smoke and Mirrors is great, and 'A Study in Emerald' is pretty wicked.

I think we can all agree it's for the better, though.

My friends all saw it and were like 'meh' and so I didn't go to see it in the cinema. :( Then I bought the DVD because I was curious and damn, it has the best cast and it's funny and sweet and it makes me feel really good

Him and Pratchett should get over the fact that they're on different continents now and write the sequel to Good Omens.

    omg tfs

i got lucky and took out a pirate fighter and sold it for like 90k

and then i got super duper fuckin' lucky and hijacked a split caiman superfreighter and i just turned that 90k into almost 150k in just a couple of energy cell runs

i've got from flying a busted-ass heap of a fighter to destroying my own markets in like two hours

Holy shit, I just read this on his site:
In 2003 The Wolves in the Walls, illustrated by his longtime collaborator Dave McKean, was published, and it was named by the New York Times as one of the best illustrated books of the year. It is currently being made into an opera by the Scottish National Theatre.

    An opera?? Goddamn!
