Hey, I'm a new guy around here, but first off I just wanted to say I just proposed and she said yes! I'm getting married and it's one of the happiest feelings I've had in my life!
This brings me to the purpose of this thread, I want to fill it up with happy and uplifting stories so when we're all down (which always happens from time to time) we can read these stories and have a smile put on our face. Hopefully some of you out there have something happy and/or uplifting!

Personally one of my favourite tales recounts a night a year or so back, where a friend of mine went from being inches away from getting glassed by some psycho to getting laid for the first time in his life
Long story short some drunken chav bastard (who was later quite literally thrown out by the bouncer, serves the fucker right) was picking a fight with this mate of mine, simply because he'd said "excuse me" to him in order to get past his table- the guy was sitting in such a way that his legs were taking up four times more space than anyone else in the club
Credit due to this friend, he didn't escalate it and he talked the freak down without resorting to insults or violence and he ended up copping off with this blonde lass who'd seen the whole thing and apparently thought it was inspirationally brave/sexy
Although I was dismayed when he told me, a couple of days later, that he'd seen it as getting the girl via "the quest's pacifist solution"
