My gf and I are visiting Coconut Grove, FL in September. It'll be our first time visiting the Miami area so any tips on how to get the most out of the vacation? We're looking for really cool and fun restaurants, nice beaches, shopping and good outdoor attractions.

Well, the Grove itself is somewhere between a tourist trap and a college bar scene, so if that is your thing then you should feel right at home! There are many restaurants and bars and shops, most of them in a big open air complex. Peacock Park is nice but not too big, and the marina is right across Bayshore Drive from the main cluster of hotels and such. I'd recommend Monty's for a start, good seafood place with boat docks in the back.

Outside of that, my first question is: will you have a car?

I'll have a car. We're not into the college scene.
