AMAZING FIND!

So I was walking through a dollar store today and came across a shelf of computer games. Most were shite that I didn't take a second look at, BUT there were a bunch of unopened boxes of Deus Ex. I grabbed it and took it to the counter, it cost me a total of $1.15.

I know this is a well-loved game by many, but I've never played it before. Was a buck worth it?

    Yeah I found the same game for $2 in a bargain bin full of bad games at Microcenter.

    Deus Ex came with my friend's video card yeeaarrs ago, and he just gave it to me, I don't know why.

    I didn't even play it until like 2 years ago too, and was like, shit man, I could've been playing for so much longer what the hell

    I did the same with dark messiah.

    And about owning it on steam? sure thats fine for games that are difficult to get but sometimes its nice to see the boxed games.

    I don't think it's possible to own too many copies of Deus Ex. I have an original retail copy somewhere, a couple of more copies that were packed in with video cards, and the Steam version. I mean really, there is always room for more Gunther Hermann in your life.

    I've never played Deus Ex. I'm not a PC gamer and couldn't find the PS2 version anywhere when I had one.

    Now I feel that window has pissed and Jesus, you people hype it up so beyond belief that I'm pretty sure it could be nothing but a colossal disappointment now.

    Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing is worth a buck.
    ET for the 2600? Easily worth a buck.
    Superman 64 might even be worth $1.50.

    Yes, Deus Ex, being one of the best games of recent memory, is worth more than a buck.

    Honestly, I doubt that. Like I said, I only just played it a couple of years ago, and that's after reading these forums for years and reading what people said about the game.

    I hear it's excellent.

    I have quite a few copies of this. I got two PS2 versions; one from years ago when my PC was but a shitcan and one recently when my 360 died and I began using goggex and getting stupid games I forgot I already had. Then I got 2 versions of the disc based PC edition. One is GOTY and the other.... is.... somewhere round here.

    Haha see that what I bought the first time I went after Deus Ex. The only "limited" edition game that actually meant the game was limited in gameplay.

    I've played and completed this game way back when, even going back to see some of the alternative endings. But I never understood why people adore it so much. It had some interesting ideas but otherwise I thought it was meh.

    I also agree about my shitty screenname, but I was probably high on pot when I chose it.

    I'm going to try to get back in the store and buy some more copies. Interestingly enough, I haven't even cracked open my copy yet. Maybe tonight is the night!
