Ooh, I think they know. They just see Obama as our Keanu Reeves. The actor who could turn around this whole liberal vs. conservative narrative that our country has been brewing. Up to this point, they've associated so many negative things to being a liberal. It's all unwinding, and fast. They're really rolling the dice on all of this, because if the country comes out a whole lot better because of what this administration does, they all look like huge idiots. However, if their sabotage can work, then they will seem justified (to ... morons).

Wait... I feel something. It may be working.

Nope, just gas. Sorry, nexus. <3
Wait, you can feel? I always though you were some kind of holdover cold war automaton warbot.

I am, but I have a high-quality soul fashioned from the souls of millions of gulag prisoners. This Soul of the People allows me to feel quite intensely for the plight of the working class!

Apparently it's been in the works since 2008 and is being based on the Unreal Engine 3 and still slated for 2010, so I don't think it's vapourware. Tad himself is apparently working with the project and has it featured on his blog.

Granted, any press about it is still from 2008 which probably isn't a good sign.

Yeah, MMOs are high risk high reward. I don't even want to know how much money WoW has made Blizzard, on the other hand, the amount of money AoC lost has to be pretty huge as well.

I think EvE Online is one of the most profitable businesses in country it is based out of, which is either Iceland or Greenland, I can't remember which.

I have never heard of this thing. What is it?

It sounds, scarily, like it's taking a bit from Second Life at least in centering it around the social aspects of MMO. They're really thin on details of combat, questing, or really what you're supposed to do in the game. You get a piece of real estate in the virtual world, and there are quests, and quests you can give other players, and changing environments, but that's basically it for information.

Yeah but MMO's have massive start up costs with a continued cost down the line. And with the WoW juggernaut if you aren't a big enough company to eat those initials you'll never see 5 years of revenue.

They seem like a hell of a lot of risk in a very well entrenched market.
