Hi, I am Kiki and I just wanted to let you guys know that if you are arriving for PAX on Thursday the 3rd, my fellow BTG'er is offering FREE rides from the airport to Seattle. It's a pretty cool deal, there are no strings attached, he just wanted to help people save a few dollars for cab rides etc. Check it out at:

Thanks!

    Cool beans. Good show.

Also, the city bus can take you right downtown to the convention centre for a mere $1.25.

    Takes about 20 minutes.

And the city bus would probably be a lot safer. CrazyEcho lives up to his name when driving! But.... it would defnitely be a lot more entertaining :)

Buses are boring... car rides from random community members sounds like much more fun. You guys are awesome for offering this up

Shit, take the metro down the road to Tukwilla and ride the Lightrail the whole way. Great views - cheap, fast, and not boring.

You dont even have to do that, theres a free connector shuttle to the light rail tukwilla station right outside baggage claim @ the airport

Hey guys. Not saying this was the only alternative. We just thought it would be something fun to do 'cause we are big time PAX fans :)

Taking luggage on public transportation can kinda suck, especially if it's full.

LoL! Dude, if you weren't local I would suggest you take the light rail ;)

Seriously though, it is just a way to meet new people, help people save money (even if it is just a buck twenty five!), and just have a fun kick-off to PAX.

PAX is all about the community to me. I moved from AZ to WA last year and without the people I have met at PAX over the years, who live locally, it would have been a lot scarier.

Anyway.. maybe we will run in to each other at the convention, I will most likely be one of those annoying people saying hi to strangers and making new friends :)

    kikikat,

I just want to say that this is a very cool service that your friend is offering. It's a great way to help out PAX-goers and build the community. If I didn't live in Redmond and work in Sammamish I would probably take you up on the offer.

That being said, I've been meaning to try out the new light rail but I haven't had a reason to yet. I wish it came out to the east side already.

I take it fairly regularly as I have an ORCA card - easily twice as roomy as KCMetro or ST busses.

Good for you! But this thread is more for people who don't live in the city and don't have ORCA cards and are looking for a fun way to get from the airport to Seattle at no cost.

But thanks for your input! It helps people to know that they have more than one option for transportation in this wonderful state :)

    Exactly.
And one of those options happens to be a free shuttle from the airport to the Light Rail terminal followed by a traffic free scenic ride on the jewel of King County Metro's eye straight to downtown Seattle a block from PAX and all the major hotels. Total cost less than an average coffee.

Not to mention the multiple alternative options you wonderful people have already pointed out in this thread.

    A veritable cornucopia of information.

    Woah woah woah Lady.

I'm just pointing out the viability of dirt cheap alternatives.
I won't deny that I'm proud of the new light rail, but I posted here to point out that if for some reason they can't get a free ride with the taxi they can get damn close with Metro's new toys.

Yes, and you have said that in numerous posts that's why I asked you to please stop. We get the point, man.

This post wasn't created to discuss modes of transportation, there probably are a bunch of posts about that (if not, you could probably create one yourself). This was one just to tell about a cool thing a friend of mine is doing, that is all. if you are intersted or have a comment related to that, please post, otherwise keep the spam elsewhere.

    Thanks.

I dunno if I'd consider it spam, I mean there were others in the thread discussing it before I joined the conversation. Even after that, I was really just discussing it with you.

    Anyways.. Free taxis are awesome!

Wow. The OP and a friend offer up free rides to from the airport, no strings attached, and the thread gets clogged up with shit about how cheap and awesome the other options are? What the hell?

I'm coming in on the PAXtrain Thursday night, but if I were flying in, I'd absolutely take you up on this, kikikat. What you and your friend are doing is awesome, and it's yet another reason why the PAX community is one of the most kickass communities of like-minded people around. Keep on doing what you're doing!

Yes things did get a bit out of hand though, and I would definitely accept the offer as well if I were not local, but I have some friends that may be flying in on Thursday, so if they do I will refer them here.

Like Arco, I'm on the WCTT, but I've passed this thread along to a couple friends who are supposed to be flying in, if they don't bail...lol

Also, you might consider editing the subject to reflect [PRIME] so it's consistent with the other threads in the forum.

Hi Kiki! I think I'm going to have to take you up on this offer! I don't normally take public transportation so taking shuttles and busses are confusing to me if I don't know the area. Once I get home and double check all my fight info I'll fill out the form.

=) Thanks a lot for this offer.

Hey thanks for this awesome offer of uh... awesomeness! I had a question before I signed up, there's going to be 4 of us in my group. Will Crazy's taxi have enough seating for all of us or do we need to split it up into two trips?

I believe he is renting a car ... if not, he has an Element and while it is far from the sexiest of cars (really far from sexy and falling into ugly), it has lots of room so you should be all set for one trip :)

My car may not be the "Sexiest" thing out there. I can carry up to 3 passengers. As of now, i don't have a group over 3 people signed up for a trip. So no need to rent something bigger just yet. The people who signed up will have priority pick up.
