It looks like the plane heading for the twin towers in Universe B never made it, whereas the one heading for the whitehouse DID, since the newspapers say "Obamas prepare to move into NEW whitehouse"

uh, dude
there were two planes. one hit WTC 1 and one hit WTC 2.
and yeah, I figure United 97 somehow did make it to the White House
you've got to wonder what Bell's been up to in this other world

They frequently use the definite article (the other world) but they also seem to use the indefenite article (another reality) (this planet but another reality) almost as often.
Also, I think it's worth noting that no one ever says "there are two of everything": they say, "there is more than one of everything".
I don't think it's quite so binary as ZFT's manifesto describes. It's possible that ZFT is referring to ONE world that is planning an invasion, separate and unique from the other worlds Olivia has seen.
I thought that was incredible. It resolved some outstanding issues, introduced some new questions, and that is actually one hell of a cliff hanger. We're left right at the cusp of learning so much. I'm really looking forward to next season.
I think its become clearer that the Observer has a boss/bosses. He reported on a cell-phone during the drill bullet episode, but this time he came out and said he had standing orders (not to interfere). Quite interested to see if theres yet another reality out there that has become something analogous to "Reality Police."
And if they don't reveal the origin of ZFT & the manifesto in the season opener I will be so mad. (so mad)
Spoiler:
as gimmicky as it was, I would love it if they use the little mind meld technique on Jones, but that could go very poorly. Also, so, wtf, Peter IS from another reality. I wonder why Walter is so worried about his health? Could it be that he knows something about his health? It's also definite now why Walter is so confused about Peter's childhood. So, did Peter die in the crash, but the Observer saved Walter? Also, when do we finally meet Peter's mother? She must know what happened to her son. Or, did Peter die from the disease, and Walter replaced him, only to have him almost die in the car crash, resulting in the Observer saving him?
I'm thinking he died in the car crash, and Walter had the Observer? bring Peter back from the other side, hence why the soft spot between worlds is at that lake. BUT--people must have known Peter died, because they buried him. I can't imagine his mother wasn't aware that he died, so she could clear so much up. Can't wait for next season.

I think that's a very viable theory--I just hope it's not true because for me, it'd feel more poignant if he is an alternate universe son? also the memories of childhood seem remarkably different. and Nina Sharp refers to her knowledge of child Peter--I think an even bigger immediate question is, "Who knows that Peter died at age 7? Did his mother know? Did Nina Sharp know?" I think that could be very revealing.
though I saw the "peter's from an alternate reality" thing coming pretty early on in the episode, it was still fucking crazy
I figured that was where they were going after they had Peter mention that he remembered the G.I. Joe's scar being on the other side in the ep. with the Observer kid.
I'm still with everything they've shown us that we're supposed to assume there are as of now only two separate realities.
If they were finite I think they would of given us an indication of a more specific number, and if they were infinite then how would they know where Bell went.
you mean that whole bit where walter explained how every choice led to the creation of a new universe led you to believe there's only one alternate earth
