Depending on how the week goes Lookout may have the edge due to pure amount of content already available. Gabe and Tycho seemed really excited about it on the podcast. Excited enough to have Kiko make a logo for the group, to make wallpapers and draw the daughter of Eyrwood.
I just want to know if this will be a 'fair fight' if they do their normal: 1 page comic plus 1 news post for Automica and Jim Darkmagic I think that Lookouts has an excellent chance of winning.
Now if they do a podcast, plus concept art, plus logo designs, plus background story etc etc for the other two it'll just be down to the opinions of the readers. Since it's their own contest they can (if they wish) attempt to weigh the outcome how they want. It seems like they started out wanting to do three concepts and then while designing really got into the Lookouts story.
So you're saying you'll vote for this one unless the other ones are better
No. I will not vote for the robot thing under any circumstances.
And it is very unlikely I will vote for Jim, unless it completely blows away any expectation, which I find quite unlikely.

well thanks for letting us all know your process for deciding on which story arc to vote for when you've only seen one of the three

I almost feel bad voting for one since it will mean voting against the others. Maybe there will be a box marked "I'm a pussy and can't decide! Please do all three!"
I was thinking something along those lines, too, MP. Fun light-hearted adventure, or incorporating them into a campaign setting, with maybe the PCs as higher-ranking members of the Lookouts, having to rescue lost initiates and whatnot.

Lookouts insurgency against an invading goblin army.
Maybe they adopt some kind of symbol from the animal kingdom.
You could definitely go a lot of ways with it. Lots of really cool interesting ways that is inspiring me right now.
I think having the PCs be the little children would be a new experience for a lot of players. Would a 8 or 9 year old be considered small or medium I wonder?
I will have to delve in my 4e books deeply tonight to find the answers to these questions.
Oh, this is a beautiful comic, and I want to see more, but when I read it I became wistful picturing it, not as a comic, but as a game produced by Double Fine in the mold of Psychonauts.
You'd get to play as a young Lookout, excited to learn in a dangerous environment with other quirky kids also in tow, gaining skills marked by badges, navigating obstacles, solving interesting puzzles, all with brilliant dialogue, a lot of heart and a great sense of humor.
I would love to see the Penny Arcade team get involved with Double Fine and making a thing of creative beauty and lush personality that would live in my heart forever. Damn, I want to play that game!

Good to know you're still dumber than a box of hammers
Strong the will of a Lookout boy
Knife in hand and an ear for danger
Watch the treetops, taste the wind
And through the Eyrewood safely go!
Now a basilisk is a fearsome foe
With a serpent’s tail and a cockerel’s toe
And a tiny crown on its comb just so
And its black eye ever burning with a fatal glow
But a Lookout fears not a beast so vile
And he’ll strike it down from an eighth of a mile
With an arrow dipped in the weasel’s bile
For the shot that hits unerring is his typical style
Strong the will of a Lookout boy
Knife in hand and an ear for danger
Watch the treetops, taste the wind
And through the Eyrewood safely go!

Well, Lookouts is new and in a setting that intrigues me.
We've already seen Jim Darkmagic stuff. We will see more.
And Automata is about robots.
My views on AI and stories featuring them have been discussed at length, so let's refrain from doing so again.
So, I can savely say that I will probably vote for Lookouts unless Jim turns out to be pure excellence.
Or was that something else?

Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.

I'm glad you were here to clarify it.

You asked.
I can rule out option B because it's robots. I can rule out option C because I want something new.
So yes, I don't need to see the other entries in order to decide.
Kinda like taking the strawberry candy without having tasted the lemon or cherry ones.
I don't think that's going to do it.
I think we're going to need some diagrams up in this bitch.
It is vital that we understand every fascinating detail of your decision making process.
Does 4e still have the rules to make "kids" where they have a ton of negatives to their stats?
With PHBII I can see a group of "Scouts" being fighter, rangers, maybe a little half-orc kid that is a barbarian.

(That was what you were going for, right?)
edit: I meant it as a joke but that actually sounds really badass.
Or a DnD Lord of the Flies

Now, you might be wondering, why would I post something that isn't complete yet? Well, it's quite straightforward: I am a whoooooooooore.
should there really be a poll? who would vote for anything else
This is most certainly what you should do
