On the FR gear: I know its only for 1 fight, but I'm new to the guild and extremely new to raiding. So when I'm told by the GL/RL "Show up with <whatever>", I tend to take that as "...or you're not getting in." This may stupid and naive of me, but apparently it built me up enough good karma to need a uhaul when leaving. :)

Are we in the minority on the whole "using FR gear for Sapphiron" thing?

We've never use FrR gear for Sapph or KT. We've used it on Hodir, but that's because Frozen Blows blows.

Probably. If you have a couple paladins around where one can pop over into Frost Resist Aura or an extra Shaman to drop a Frost Resist Totem, you probably have more FR than you need for the fight.

I've done that fight with three different classes now, my Arcane Mage who had high innate Frost Resist and Frost Ward, my Elemental Shaman, whom I don't think I dropped Frost Resist Totem with because I needed that spot for Totem of Wrath, and my Death Knight. Didn't have any particular problems with any of them. Ran with pretty good groups too though.

Back in TBC we didn't use Arcane Resist for Curator any time I can remember either, even in early Kara.

It's good for raiders new to the fight and simplifies a lot of the healing if you're running with 1 healer on 10 man or under 4 for 25 man. It's just as ass of a fight and there's a lot of damage going about that you don't want to be healing through sometimes. There are some hardcore raiders here that scoff at needing it for naxx, but most of the non "poopsockers" used them at least once or twice on my server anyways.

That and it shows you're prepared and enthusiastic about doing the fight, which is a good sign.

Yeah my :\ is more aimed at your new raid leader(s) rather than you. If they wanted you to make it, it's good that you made it and gemmed it, but really they shouldn't be asking anyone to, it's not needed.

Hate: Doing H CoS with a pug, we just did Nexus and we were an alright group. We down the Chrono-Lord and it seems we might have a shot at the drake, when the healer accidently hearths out. She said her hearth key was right next to her mana regen key (hymm or something? not familiar with priests) and she just didn't realize.

Meh: Got the shield off Mal'Ganis, which is only like a sidegrade to my titansteel shield.

Happy: Hard-mode Hodir done on 25-man. We actually accomplished something!

Hate: My game sound seemed muffled so I was looking at sound settings and suddenly couldn't hear Vent. It only works if I turn on one of these stupid audio special effects things, like "everyone is underwater" or "in a forest" and shit. ARGH. Really starting to wish I had just gotten a prebuilt PC this time. I am SO not a person who enjoys having to tinker with their PC all the goddamn time. I really need a RL friend or boyfriend who can deal with this shit for me. If NewEgg would let me I'd probably return everything tomorrow, but I can't. sigh.

If you're running with 1 healer for 10s or under 4 for 25s, chances are you're working on hardmode, in which case wearing frost resist gear to deliberately gimp your DPS is like, the DUMBEST thing you could do.

Only fight we use FrR for is hardmode Thorim, and only one piece to reduce the lolol Frost Nova + Frostbolt + Frostbolt Volley dead in 2 seconds

Hate: Drama. GM who pretty much nobody likes (I mean on the server, in addition to the guild) has been getting less and less active. He's a decent player, but a huge distraction and basically a bitch. One of the officers asks for GM, he says no. Since he's got the maturity level of a 15 year old, officers worry about him yanking the guildbank, so they pull out some stuff to make sure we don't get completely screwed. He flips out, gives GM to one of his idiot friends who never plays, and the two of them plus one other idiot friend take everything out of the bank for "safe keepking". On the plus side, I don't really see this ending without us disbanding and reforming without those 3, which would be great because he's a huge liability for a raid, not to mention we'll shed the ill will he's built for us around the server (he and yet another idiot friend pulled some ninja bullshit with a pug naxx 25 and made off with BoH that pissed off the whole guild pretty much). On the other hand, disband/reform + already hurting for numbers = might not be able to come back from that. Oh well, we'll see.

So it looks like the break up is something you simply can not stop. The sheer weight of historical inevitability crushes your very being. Thus, all you can do is speed up the course and hope that the madness passes quickly. To do this you must engage in a revolution! Viva la revolucion! The best way to go about doing this is to cause your GM to completely flip out and lose his cool. But your provocation must be such that he stands alone in his rage. You must rally the people to you, and cause them to join in common cause in overthrowing the evil fascist dictator.

Thus I propose you make a forum post calling for his overthrow. Now you're asking yourself "But wait, sure the proletariat are unhappy. But I will look like an agitator and no one will follow me. Is this not a silly idea?" and you are right! It is a silly idea. The sillier the better. You must make his response so disproportional that the members of the guild will mock him and drive him off. I suggest a truely over the top post. One in which you use the lyrics to La Marseillaise. One in which the word Proletariat is used with great frequency. Quote long stretches of Declaration of Independence. You can not hold back, you must commit to being as over the top as humanly possible.

To help you along, I have included the lyrics to La Marseillaise.

Your Friend in the Great Struggle,

    Thomamelas.
    1.
    Allons, enfants de Patrie,
    Le jour de gloire est arrive;
    Contrenous de la tyranne,
    L'etendard sanglant est leve,
    L'etendard sanglant est leve,
    Entendezvous, dans les campagnes,
    Mugir ces feroces soldats?
Ils viennent jusque dans nos bras,
    Egorger nos fils, nos compagnes.
    Aux armes, citoyens!
    Formez vos bataillons!
    Marchons, marchons!
Qu'un sang impur abreuve nos sillons! 2.
    Amour Sacre de la Patrie,
    Conduis, soutiens, nos bras vengeurs.
    Liberte, liberte cherie
    Combats avec tes defenseurs!
    Combats avec tes defenseurs!
Sous nos drapeaux, que la victoire
    Accours a tes males accents!
    Que tes ennemis expirants
Volent ton triomphe et notre gloire.
    Aux armes, citoyens!
    Formez vos bataillons!
    Marchons, marchons!
Qu'un sang impur abreuve nos sillons!
    3.
    Nous entrerons dans la carriere
Quand nos aines n'y seront plus.
    Nous y trouverons leur poussiere
Et la trace de leurs vertus,
Et la trace de leurs vertus,
Bien moins jaloux de leur survivre
    Que de partager leur orguiel
De les venger ou de les suivre.
    Aux armes, citoyens!
    Formez vos bataillons!
    Marchons, marchons!
Qu'un sang impur abreuve nos sillons!

WOO WOO HAPPY: After middling around in Uld 25 and finally getting Mimi down this past week, our night 1 raid blazed through everything up to the Descent of Madness save for Ignis and AoI, leaving us with a clear shot at General and (who knows?) Yogg Sharon on Sunday. Everything just clicked, and what was once horrendous healing on Mimiron has suddenly manageable (although hairy at a few moments). Shit we even got Hodir without a flash freeze toward the end of the night (trust me, that's an accomplishment.)

    Gratz!

Right now I'm sitting at 87/100 mounts (I'm going for the 5 token AT mounts at the same time as the corresponding 100 token ones). Even with them I'm at 97 mounts, so I'll need to start farming ZG and heroic MgT more frequently (or drop mining for tailoring...)
Of course, this is to legitimize the dragonhawk I already had due to the shenanigans with the 3.0 patch.

There's no hard modes in nax.

We just didn't have any other healers on that day.

    Gothikk was.. interesting.

Hate: My internet connection to wow has gone to complete shit the past few weeks (it seems like since 3.1 hit, but I could just be making that date up). As in, I log in, and am usually disconnected within 5-10 minutes due to horrible lag spikes. I'm pretty sure this problem is due to my isp (comcast... it's great not having other options for high-speed internet where I live :x). Due to my inability to stay logged in, I've lost my regular spot in our Ulduar raid (I don't blame them, but it still sucks).

Happy: WoW seems to be the only program/online game that experiences this problem. Eve works fine, LOTRO works fine.

Hope: LOTRO continues to be awesome. Maybe this whole experience will help me kick the WoW habit (only to be replaced by a LOTRO habit, but whatever...)

    Congrats, man.

How long did it take you (From the day you decided to gun for this achievement)?

The last couple took about 100 hours. ><

A friend and I had decided to grind out 50 for the Albino Drake in the last few weeks before Wrath; Did low level quests to get Exalted with a few home cities (they're both Pre-BC characters so they were only Honored/Revered), Shatari, Kurenai, and Netherwing. That + ZA bears + Alliance Gryphons + a few PvP mounts was 50.

Since then, I'd just picked up mounts here and there without really thinking about them. Exodar & Gnomer mounts once I hit exalted with them, Oracles drake, what can I buy with stone keepers shards? Oh, mammoth! Etc. I flat out refused to buy any of the "expensive" mounts though, like the original Hyppogryph or the Wyrmrest drake, mainly because I'm a hypocrite and didn't consider the pile of money I'd already spent. (I needed the motorcycle though. We've had countless hours of motorcycle gang fun)

Around the mid-80's I finally realized that it wasn't out of reach; Argent Hyppogryph+5 champion's seal mounts (I forgot that 2000g btw), the expensive purchasable ones, I fail at rolling so the Bronze Drake, so I was left with 5:

1 last PvP mount - needed like 50 various tokens; hours and hours of yelling at people in BG chat to just fight on the fucking flag. (they still wont) I picked up some achievements, so meh.
2 Halaa mounts - Luckily Halaa was pretty active on Dark Iron and I had the Battle Tokens stashed away from level 70. Grinding out hundreds of dust over 8ish hours was the opposite of fun.
Oh Wintersaber, I'm so glad I have you. 25 hours of the same 2 quests. You can do the 3rd, but it slows you down, whee.

They put together a 3d10 for the last one last night, um.... The zerg "strat" is still complete bullshit but gg... 100 =)

    The best plan ever.

I would suggest at the very least getting your ducks in a row to make sure everyone is on board for that transition. Have the replacement guild set up (via alts as needed) before the inevitable disbandment. The easier it is to have the good people move over as smoothly as possible.

Also, make sure you keep communication open, don't want to end up being a one man show when the whole thing comes crashing down.
