Mori and I are watching Rear Window this weekend; he hasn't seen it yet
Last weekend, we watched Rebecca
I really wanted those two movies on DVD, and I also want more Hitchcock, but, typically, Rear Window was in one gigantic box set of his movies and Rebecca was in another gigantic box set of his movies, so I ended up buying each on their own.
After this, I guess I really owe Mori a viewing of a movie of his choice (I think it'll be Ghostbusters)
Terry Gilliam is goodness.
Time Bandits + The Adventures of Baron Munchhausen + Brazil
Some of my all time favorite movies.
Plus he did Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, 12 Monkeys, as well as MP and the Holy Grail and The Meaning of Life.
I remember hearing the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus was having some kind of hard time finding a US distributor.
Which would mean it might end up not seeing a ton of theaters when it does come up stateside.
Which would be really, really unfortunate.
But I was kinda hoping you'd post, I usually trust your recommendations!
the movie has more to do with mental illness and all though, but has a lot of fantasy elements, and its kind of a downer, kinda. reminds me of big fish. but still worth watchin if you like more fantasy stuff. so check it!
i'm just curious how they're doing heat ledger's character changin and being like three different dudes all through imaginarium of doctor parnassus. i usually love gilliam's stuff too. heck, i even liked tideland, even though it was kinda weird
speakin of shitty movie distribution, still pissed i haven't gotten a chance to see brothers bloom in theaters. the closest one showin it still is like an hour away, and i think it won't get a wider release. so sad.

The review I read said that the changing character's was handled really well, like if you didn't know about it beforehand, you'd think that it was what was originally intended.
Also Heath Ledger's first appearance is kinda eerie
"I cant believe keith ledger won the oscar for best supporting actor, I saw the black night and he was the worst riddler I ever seen, jack nicklaus was way better and he is a golf legend"

I got kinda creeped out a couple of times

you shouldn't have to sit through anything

"sit through" because it's a long fucking movie
it is a great film through and through
but man sitting in a seat for 3 hours is difficult no matter what movie it is
Roland Emmerich isn't american you can't put the blame soley on us.
Seriously though he's made this same movie at least 2 times before this what is his obsession.

have you heard of Neverwas? its this fantasy-ish movie released a few years back starring aaron eckhart and ian mckellan that was pretty decent.
But I was kinda hoping you'd post, I usually trust your recommendations!
The Princess Bride? Enchanted?
Dang, I can't think of very many good comedic fantasy stories.
Yes! This! Finally, someone else knows what this movie is. THANK YOU.
Also, I just watched the trailer for Thirst and I am beyond excited.

I have seen and own both of those, as well as every other decent Disney animated film!

Terry Gilliam has the worst luck.
Still, I want to see this very badly.

The Man Who Killed Don Quixote is actually supposed to start filming again in the next year.
That would be nice.
