I got one of my sisters to watch the first disc of book 1. She said it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be--and she laughed out loud at several of the funnier moments--but she hasn't shown enthusiasm to watch any more of it.
My other sister hasn't watched any, and is too determined to catch up on the Harry Potter films (she didn't even see the fifth one at all) before going to see Half-Blood Prince to spend time on Avatar.

It's funny because someone I was arguing with about that was basically inferring that the all white cast was due to them picking the best and most talented actors, which of course infers that coloured people just can't act.
He also went all white-victim and was like "I bet if it were an all japanese cast or an all black cast people wouldn't care!"

I think people would care a lot if it were an all black cast
My main concern isn't the fact that we have almost all white actors (as long as they portray the characters right) or the loss of Chinese calligraphy but the fact that Zuko's scar is GONE.That is what worries me.

OK so just to be clear we're accusing an Indian guy of pro-white racism right?
lets look at this in a different light.
Katara:Useless and terrible-white
Sokka:Useless but awesome-white(but with an experienced actor)
zuko:total badass. monster of a man who takes on a fire general as a kid and lives to tell about it-indian
Iroh:Somehow even more badass than zuko; God of a man-Iranian
ultimately though my theory comes down to whether or not toph is white. If she's another Indian actor than my theory that all the best characters are non-white is correct
edit: also aang is a nonissue since his character is white

That'd be like Aang without his arrow, or Katara without her... hair... loopies.
Wow it is there...but it's practically non existent. And considering how CRUCIAL Zuko's scar is to his character you'd think they'd make it a bit more prominent.
and Toph shouldn't be in this movie because it's supposed to be all of season one. Toph doesn't show up til two. Now if she's not in the next movie I say we grab the torches and pitchforks and go to TOWN.

How the hell could Toph be in the movie?
Wasn't she in Season 2?

Philistines.
he was hooked
I really hope they dont fuck up the movie, but I have very little confidence in Shamalamadingdong.
Jordan of Elienor, Human Shaman
for the movie apparently they're not going to use chinese caligraphy at all
instead they're replacing it with "unreadable symbols"

I got a buddy of mine interested, by playing on what he loves.
The guy is a big wrestling fan, so I showed him The Blind Bandit. He loved it.

it reminds me of one episode of this show where a black kid wants to play lincoln
I mean it wasn't as apparent but I could have sworn I saw it

I would hardly call whiny by day and awesome by night character growth
except toph, who never really changes much
but it doesn't matter because Toph is amazing
Boo.

That might have just been Youtube bullshit though.
