I sometimes feel bad about my preferences, 'cause I hate how curvier ladies often feel bad about themselves, and that is a shame. But man. Skinny girls are just what I dig.
Ok I'll be honest I thought the whole thing was pretty fucking gay until we were all stuck in that tiny changing room and I turned around and was surrounded by women in their underwear and most of them had cool tattoos.
So how does a model get fame on the runway, or at least for this type of show. The point is to look at the clothes and the overall message, and the model is just the canvas right? How does canvas get famous?
by being a good compliment to the work
as much as they are the canvas, the canvas affects the way you view a piece for better or for worse
she was a hot canvas i guess
if you're into the creepy "smeyes" thing
bevotron I noticed some of the girl's poses at the end of the runway did a really good job of showing the audience how the light would hit it in different poses so you could sort of see what it would look like in every day life
mnoll: my older sister used to model!
and my younger sisters are really into watching shows about it
also pretty much every girl in my classes at school are going into fashion art and they are incredibly talented and creative people
trent: yeah good canvases!
tam: yeah tam is right too. being open to more "unconventional" forms of art has really helped me with my own more commercial stuff (no really... it really has) all art has some aesthetic, whether it appeals to you or not. being open and observing it can really help you out in your own practice
inspiration is everywhere and all that stuff

Yeah, that makes sense. There are bound to be brands or types of canvas that experienced artists will prefer, and since a model does quite a lot more with what he or she wears than canvas does, it would follow that very "good" ones will be more sought after.
It is very interesting though. I would very much like to speak with one of these designers, and find out how different it is to have to work with the human factor. I'm sure that while she got a pretty general pick of who she wanted in the show, she still had to deal with the fact that no model is going to do exactly what you expect in presenting your vision. It might be neat to see how they mentally take that into the overall presentation, or even if it matters all that much.
beavo i'm entertained by how you need like two posts to give me more appreciation of fashion than watching an entire season or two of America's top model with an ex of mine did.
for me, fashion is like when a guy is really sleepy and starts laughing for a really long time at something that is only mildly funny, but he also stops himself now and then with a sad look on his face as if he desperately wants to stop laughing

last minute model problems
people come with all sorts of baggage, their own agendas, wanting to be noticed by other potential clients, big egos, things not fitting properly, models tearing the clothes etc
fashion art is really really fascinating when you get into it

Canvas that can have a tantrum and storm off! Imagine having to deal with that at 3 am in the morning in the art lab. Although I guess in the extremely metaphorical sense you can still have that while painting.

hahahah
there was this one episode of canada's next top model where they were made to wear dresses made entirely out of kleenex (absolutely gorgeous work, very fine details, looked so soft made out of fucking kleenex)
anyway, chick is told not to touch it
reaches out, grabs the zipper, rips the whole thing
then later, trips on stage and rips it even more.
I also like the episode where they're supposed to learn how to make connections in the fashion industry and they go to some party that has 50 cent and one of the models pisses him off.
i can appreciate fashion and beautiful dresses and suits and clothing that looks good but this kind of fashion show just plays into the whole fucking zoolander thing and makes it seem like all fashion is a fucking circus like these idiots
but the important thing is they have their community and industry for it and no reason to give a shit what you or I think about it

This isn't about making them feel bad.
This is about making us feel good for being so much better than them because we obviously don't do stupid, vapid shit like that.
Now excuse me while I continue browsing SE++ threads.
has she lost all her makeup in belladonna once or twice?
She worked on Playboy Tv's "Boy Next Door" and a ton of other random stuff. I have not gotten into specifics about who she has done makeup on but I'll ask her for you. I know she's been to the Playboy Mansion.

But STILL.
