Ahahahaha that is... well that is certainly a story, WL.
The amazing part is that neither my dad or I learned about the part with the cops until a week or so later.
I guess they parked at the beginning of the cul de sac and, in bulletproof gear with riot masks, proceeded to walk down the street telling people to get back into their houses.
We were just watching TV the whole time.

Zot shut up I am jealous SHUT UUUUUP
I have to play like $15 just to skate for a couple hours
one of the few really good memories of spending time with my dad was camping out in the Oregon wilderness, splittin logs for firewood and swimming around in a spring.
Today was opening day at Alyeska, so I went skiing! It was pretty much white ribbon of death, only lower mountain open. But there were a couple of small ungroomed areas that got opened during the day, so I got a few pow turns in.
Anyways, it was awesome, I've missed skiing so very much. At the end of the day I started trying to teach myself to ski switch, it was hilarious I'm sure to anyone watching.
Hiking is definitely something I enjoy, but am rarely able to do. There aren't a lot of feelings out there better than sitting down at the end of the trail after several hours.

The only guy I knew who thought skiing was vastly superior to snowboarding was a total prat with a french name and a superiority complex.
I don't actually think skiing sucks or anything like that, but its difficult for me not to remember the way he would bitch about "boarders taking up the slopes," almost as much as he bitched about Mexicans.

Like I said, kind of a prat.
yeah, skiing's fine but douche skiers who still think snowboarders are invading "their" slopes can go fuck themselves
but I really cannot imagine it is more fun than snowboarding
it's not as fun at first, probably
because with snowboarding, after that first day (which everyone spends basically entirely on their butt) you can go basically where you want, breeze through the easy parts, and slide down anything that scares you
skiing is like... you won't fall down as much on the first day, but falling down on skis is always more uncomfortable than falling on a board, so while you're still a beginner it's hard to be entirely comfortable
Holy shit, I was actually just going to make this thread. Weird.
I have all my requirements for my degree fulfilled, so next semester I'm taking advantage of my school's recreation program. They have this thing called the CORE program, which is an acronym for some stupid bullshit or another.
Point is it's basically a semester's worth of courses in wilderness survival and leadership. We'll be mountain climbing, caving, white-water canoeing, sea kayaking, and getting certified in all kinds of things.
I'm super stoked and at the same time not looking forward to buying gear. Most of the stuff I have is either falling apart or not of good enough quality for the shit we'll be doing.
This is seriously the coolest program and I'm completely jealous. He forgot to mention the bear wrestling and learning how to skin deer using only his teeth and pinkies.

But far too often I do it inside
gosh I hope these pictures work
I tried to get into rock climbing when I first got to Perth but then volleyball kinda took over... I never realized how weak my grip strength was until I started trying to climb some of the more difficult indoor climbs
it was HARD! I was so frustrated with myself, I can't remember ever being that annoyed at not being able to do something

It caught on like wildfire.

You weren't camping at all! You were just looking at the environment, yeah, I called your ruse.

Spelunky has taught me that exploring caves is near instantaneous, embarrassing and horrible death.

oh god WA has some of the most renowned surf spots in the world

also some pretty great sailing/kitesurfing spots too, if I'm not mistaken
hey rock climbers, what can I do to fix this?
I think maybe dead lifts help? Gonna start dead lifts anyway for my lower back

Surfing off the South Island of New Zealand is fun, but it's so, so cold most of the year. I would love to do it somewhere warmer.
Also, I'm really bad at it.
This is a rock.
