The problem with playing as female Sheperd is that female Sheperd has a great ass but also has personality and character.

Also I think I did like Hale's voice acting better, though I think it's context - there's a bunch of times where clearly something was recorded for other characters that didn't quite fit the scene as it turned out.

big stupid jellyfish comes to mind

mark meer does it in time with the fist thumps, like "big. *thump* stupid. *thump* jellyfish. *thump*"

jennifer hale puts her own spin on it that's cool, but out of time with the actions

"because it's a bigstupid JELLYfish!" and the fist thumps come afterwards

Man, if the Mass Effect 2 trailer is anywhere near as awesome as SW:TOR trailer, I"m going to buy this game 5x.

Shit......I can't wait for this game. Everything so far suggests that this is a sequal done so right. After the trailer, this thread and every thing mentioning Mass Effect 2 will be avoided as not to ruin a single fantastic thing of the game.

Some of the voice actors have been announced:

    http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/bioware-announces-celebrity-cast-for,1084281.shtml
EDMONTON, Alberta - (Business Wire) BioWare™, a division of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS), today revealed the voice actors performing in Mass Effect 2, the second act of the award-winning science fiction trilogy. The game features Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor Martin Sheen (“The West Wing”, “Apocalypse Now”), 2009 Emmy Award-winner Shohreh Aghdashloo (“House of Saddam”), comedic actor Seth Green (“Austin Powers”), “Chuck” stars Yvonne Strahovski and Adam Baldwin, Keith David (“Crash”) and sci-fi favorites Michael Dorn (“Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”), Tricia Helfer (“Battlestar Galactica”), Michael Hogan (“Battlestar Galactica”) and Carrie-Anne Moss (“The Matrix”).

The only characters they mention that we don't know about are "Michael Hogan as Captain Bailey; Adam Baldwin as Kal ‘Reegar; and Michael Dorn as Gatatog Uvenk."

Kal'Reegar seems interesting. Sounds like a batarian name, and it'd make a lot of sense to have a batarian in the squad Shepard's putting together.

I don't know, somehow I think having a geth in the party would be more appropriate than a batarian. Especially for people who took Colonist as a background.

The Butcher of Torfan, for one, would be quite open to having a batarian join this suicide squad

I would prefer not to have either. I get tired of the whole "enemy of my enemy" trope in RPGs.

As much as I dislike the trope, I never actually considered a batarian as an party member, it would actually be a fantastic idea for my colonist war hero, the banter writes itself.

And holy fuck that cast is fantasic, so it really was martin sheen! Now I have to do everything he says, what the illusive man wants, the illusive man gets.

It would probably be a Batarian that rejected the ways of his people

I want my space bitch back for my angry Shepard run though. I want to watch her beat the shit out of suze for hitting on Shepard.

The only thing I hate is the fact that it seems Lance Henriksen isn't back.

Makes sense considering his schedule (look on IMDB) but still.

Yeah, every time I see the trailer, I get chills.

It really is incredible. If you played (and enjoyed) the first Mass Effect and the trailer doesn't leave you excited about ME2, I maintain that you have no heart.

I mean, I've been working on the damn game for a year and it still makes me excited about January 26th.

also, apparently fucking trinity from the matrix is voicing the asari on omega? i guess that was a stand-in on the footage i heard

now i am not usually a man to be swayed on star power alone but the amount and calibre of celebs in this game is seriously impressive
