Do you know anything about buying a good microscope on the cheap? Best I could find was an old American Optical Series 10 for $400 or so. Amateur microscopy resources are sorely lacking in comparison to amateur astronomy, I've had poor luck finding what I need.
Define "good microscope"
Zeiss, Leica, Olympus, Nikon or similar quality. I've been researching microscopes a lot and everyone seems to recommend spending $500 or so on something used rather than spending the same money on something new. My understanding is that they don't really go obsolete.

Also sarksus I am about to leave work, but I don't know how much I can help you as all my 'scopes came brand new thanks to grant money.
But they are not cheap..."mine" right now is an Olympus BX61, which is a pretty basic research scope, and even THAT is pretty expensive.
Then again if you just want a stereomicroscope you can probably get away with something cheaper...check ebays and literal public auctions; sometimes universities will auction off old research stuff for money.
EDIT: they don't really go obsolete after a certain year (meaning in the last 15 I would say) but at the same time parts can break and it can be harder to fix an old scope because the body may not be in use
I will see what I can dig up though.
Also buy olympus. /fanboy
(I think the local rep wants to hire me as a sales guy but I don't want to. they have made lots of jokes about "when are you gonna quit here and come with us?" but I'm like I do research! I want a pHD! not to sellllllll things to people doing science!)

Markets in my area had neither fresh cherries nor frozen dehydrated ones. Looks like I'm sticking to disgusting fake maraschino cherries for the time being.

Oh yeah, I figured you got yours because of your damn free money!
I wanted a binocular compound microscope with planachromatic objectives. I've been looking on Ebay and a few other sites that amateur microscopy newsgroups recommend and I've found a few promising options but I just wanted to get your input.
I'm a little leery about universities 'cuz I hear the students abuse them.
Thanks for the tips.

I will pick up Valkyria Chronicles at some point. For now I have too many games to play but it will be the next PS3 game I purchase and next console RPG I play. It may not be BEST GAME EVAR but it looks neat enough.
It's a strategy game where most of the units are worthless, and the best way to win is to spam the same units and strategies on nearly every level.
Plus the story has Japanese Jews working at forced labor camps.
In the late game, there are some unbalanced units, yes. But the early and mid game was tense and required efficient use of all your units, especially since you're not familiar with their potential yet. Looking back on it just makes it seem easier.
Is Valkyria Chronicles the one with uncomfortable analogies to you playing the downtroden axis in a struggle against the evil allies? And you even get umbermensch.

Yes, it's that <$20 SRPG. It even includes Winston Churchill as a flying pig.

Now you have to bake him a god damned cake. With gratuitous icing.

Actually I was just proud of myself for finding the comic in record time.
Also Burnothy said it was a Zelda game when it was Crystal Chronicles.
What an idiot.
Why do you say that?

Better!
It does appear to be doing the rounds, however. Quite a few people in the office have been hit with it.
That's really sad

It is a good game. First one I bought for my ps3 actually. I really enjoyed it though a couple mission sucked cock.

Edit: Yeah plan objectives are expensive but I don't want cheap crap. Thanks for the help, see you later.
I stopped playing it at the mission with the spotlights. Haven't touched it since. Shame because it's a great game.
You are a brave man.

And this is my reaction to Japanese Jews:

Some kid from the noro family is doing rounds here, too. Luckily I've been spared so far.
Alright, that picture is hilarious.
I need to stop looking this stuff up.
EDIT: The embedded player cuts off the crucial last second when it does its "zoom out and fade to black" thing.

Premiere doesn't allocate before it starts to write the file then I guess?
Perhaps you can move some stuff around.
I canceled it and I'm going to split it into 3 parts just to be safe.
I know, I have been salivating all day.
I have been on a media blackout but I finally did get around to watching the class videos and man...
Man
Coincidentally why I always wear a condom when rendering.
I mean, at least the other classes are situationally useful.
