To be a bit nitpicky, that's just called the Christian cross. A crucifix is a Christian cross with Jesus (or a symbol of him) fixed to it - "cruci fixus" means "fixed to a cross".
The cross with all arms of equal length is actually the original symbol of Christianity, and still the current symbol of Orthodox Christianity. (Wikipedia tells me it's called a Greek cross.)
Why yes, I do like cruciforms.
